Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - L21A1 Ranging Gun?

Anyone ever come across one of these? My unit just got three M2s transferred to us and one is marked as L21A1. I've never seen one of these before, but L to me mean British. I've got a couple of pictures,  I'll try to get them uploaded.
It also has a former Navy serial number.

Those were British used guns - the Brits designated them L21A1 (and L6A1) for tank-mounted weapons.



They were used as ranging guns before the advent of laser rangefinders and fired 'flashing tip' tracer ammunition.
