I don't have a 50bmg rifle, but plan on getting one eventually.  I'm a bit worried after 7n6 5.45 was banned that they can try and pull the same stuff with 50bmg (even though it's domestic)

So I want to stash away 30 rounds or so of the good stuff.  I've looked at the technical specifications of each projectile type, and it seems like the APIT is the best to stock?  It has almost as much incendiary compound as the blue tip, traces, AND has better armor penetrating characteristics than black tip.

Is this perhaps the best load to grab?

No kidding, lol. APIT can be hard to use because most ranges don't allow it.

30 rounds isn't nearly enough.

I agree with 50_Shooter.....stock up on components.  You should be able to get one hundred cases and components to load 1,000 rounds for about $1,100 - $1,200.

A decent price on AP projos here, and powder can be found here.  I stocked up on everything well before the panic hit.

About 30 rounds might get me though one outing to the range if I have other guns to shoot. If I'm there with my 50 only, that number goes up.

I agree with the other posters as far as 30 rounds are a waste of time except for a couple hours of fun.  I have several hundred rounds of API bullets in ammo cans and have about 150 loaded up.  I also have a fair amount of Lehigh 800 gr semi bore riders and 750 grain A-Max bullets.  I've got enough primers, powder, bullets and cases to load the same cases several times.  I have been pleasantly surprised with the accuracy of the 647 gr API bullets while pushing them with A8700 powder.  While stocking up on powder I ended up with 24 lbs of A8700, 8lbs of H50, 8lbs of VV20N29 especially for use on the LeHigh 510-170 800 grain bullets.  At least it seem that components for 50 caliber loading are more available then powders like Varget, HS-6 or .22 LR ammo  Stock up purchase a Lee 50 BMG loader (Best price) and get your 50 BMG once you've saved up enough money.

The US hasn't made AP in 50BMG since WWII, its by far the most accurate of all. APIT has tracer compound to deal with and as it burns will cause the bullet to destabilize faster, that's why it would be my last choice.

Destabilize faster in what distance?

I thought base bleed rounds were far superior to non-base bleed rounds?

Do tell.

To the OP:

If I were only going to keep 30 rounds, they would be Mk 211 Raufoss rounds.

300 to 3000 would be APIT.

Blue tip are starting to get scarce. So are AP.
Even for the manufacturers.
Buy the projos. Stick them in a can with some desiccant and VCI film.
Money in the bank, in 10 years.

I'm not a fan of tracers.  Most places won't let them on the range and I'm not a fan of drawing a line back to my position for all and sundry.  AP and API, ball, and 750gr A-MAX.  As others have said, 30 rounds isn't stocking up.  Even with a single shot, 300 mixed ball and AP/API and about 50 match rounds would be minimum.  Add to that the ability to reload and a stash of components.

Aside from the fire thing I don't like the idea that the tracers have steel jackets. I was quite surprised when I cut one in half (very carefully) and a magnet picked it right up.  I was expecting a brass jacket with steel inside but no that is the API.  The outside looks like brass but no it's steel that is just copper washed and I don't like it against my rifling.
