I recently acquired a few BMG parts and am having trouble finding information on the barrel. All I know is the barrel is an M3 aircraft barrel stamped D-35348A-8-BA. The old invoice said it is USGI new old stock but I don't know anything about it beyond that. Originally I envisioned a single shot bolt gun, but that is seeming less and less likely. I would be grateful for any information about it such as manufacture date, manufacturer, and how to determine if it is stelite lined or unlined.

look down it. there will be a different color/sheen form the throat to about 1/2 way or so down the barrel.
