Would look a LOT better with that lower and not having mag well, mag. release, etc. TNX again. |

At the time (2003-ish?) the DPMS was one of the few single-shot lowers available. (now there is a good variety of 'em) A funny story: I was living in Maryland at the time and wanted to build a 50-upper gun. MD restricts AR-15's, and my FFL was concerned it might have to be registered to do the transfer. I called the "MD state gun board" and asked about "building an AR that wasn't semi-auto" They said it wasn't possible, there are no parts available to build a thing like that. I faxed them info on the DPMS single upper without the magazine well and a note on how even California had approved it My argument: "Without a magazine it can't possibly be a semi auto, an AR-15 is a semi-auto by design, so the gun I'm building does use some AR-15 parts, but in itself IS NOT an AR because it cant be semi-auto due to no magwell." They were suprised, and gave me the green light to go ahead with the project/transfer. ...in the end I was asked "just what in the world would someone want a single-shot AR for???" I told them I wanted to build a lightweight squirrel gun.
Hey, they never asked what the gun would be chambered in... |

The problem with this gun is if you forget your mag. at home no one has a spare one at the range.
. That mag looks cool.

Can anyone tell me where there's good prices on these? The only places I have them found are:
I'm thinking I should get a 29in barrel to push the accuracy envelope as much as the upper can. |

Ordered my Rogue single shot lower today, $285.00 + $20.00 for shipping. Are pics and link a few posts above. Will look much better w\o magwell and such. Thanks again to the poster of lower info. |

My mag fed 22" upper came in fri . Took it out today and fired a few rounds . Recoil was very light for a .50 , the blast was much more impressive . Like a punch to the sinus for each shot . Now I need to order more ammo and find out what kind of sights or optic that I want to put on it .

Great!
What ammo were you using? I, too, am still undecided on optics. Am thinking toward open sights. P.S. If you never shot a Fifty, blast is impressive! My Steyr brake is angled back, does bitch slap you with hotter loads! |

I am trying to configure mine with the shooter app. I took it last week to get a zero and confident that I did. Does anyone know the rifling twist on these?
Also, it was kind of funny. I have to set the crony further down range than about 10 feet I guess. All of the stuff blowing around caused an error so I couldnt get a good velocity reading. |

Setting the chrony dowrange a bit is STD. practice with a 50's blast radius. The SHF guns are 1-in-15 twist. |
