I'm hoping to get it by summertime

Anyone that's seen the gun care to comment on the scope rail assembly? I wasn't impressed that it's all too sturdy.
I was looking around at the SHOT Show, and I'm thinking the M107A1 will be out sooner, have less unproven variables, and be a better long-term investment.
I was excited to check out the Serbu, but disappointed with it up close. It looks like there's a lot that's gone into it, but some substantial work left to do.

The Serbu has a lot less parts. A fixed barrel, that's a huge plus. The accuracy beats the Barrett hands down. Yes, I shot it.
I own a Barrett, as a matter of fact, 2 of them. An 82a1 and a 95.
I like the Serbu rifle in its simplicity. I will own one.
I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me and say "You're next". They stopped that when I started doing it to them at funerals.

That sounds great, my bolt guns that have shot a lot of .5 moa groups at 1000 yards will only shoot 3" groups with ball at 200 yards. Sure would like to see some one with one at a match and see what they can do at 1000 yards.

I would like to see it too.

I'm not much on match shooting (I don't have the time to take it seriously -so IMHO why bother) but I plan to work up a load to see what I can get it to do.
If it is what it should be -I'll try to get it to an event.

Don't hold your breath until you see a real calendar date on their website.
This thing has been in the works for YEARS.
"Six months..", "Two weeks", "Coming along nicely", etc, etc, etc., blah blah blah
Website still says shipping Q2-Q3 2010. Last time I checked it was 2011.

That said;
Schryver is taking Barrett M107A1 pre-orders now for $11K
If Serbu can really release this project by Summer 2011, properly handle any order backlog with minimal delay,
ensure the first batch runs FLAWLESS and keep the street price near his projected MSRP.....it's a winner.

I would almost consider selling my CQ to get one...but damn that is a tough pill to swallow...$11k and no glass.

Really now, hmmm....where did you find that little tidbit of info from? Not that I don't believe you, just curious.

The one they had at SHOT Show with the suppressor was a CQ model. It's also listed on the website.

Yeah, saw the specs on the website...even more tempting.

But the price is a little crazy.

Agreed. I mean aside from the weight what makes it suppression ready? Different recoil spring and buffer? What else?

Now titanium brake and if I remember correctly the whole bolt assembly has been redone to handle a suppressor.
