Great information, thanks!

Do you have any idea which of these manufacturers offer their receivers for sale? I am interested in buying a few receivers as sort of an investment, thinking that 50 calibers will be banned in similar fashion to the '94 AWB. I assume pre-ban dated items would be still legal to own/transfer so I could make some profit.

Does this make sense? How much are the receivers for the manufacturers that sell them independently?

East Ridge State Arms sells their receivers and will sell them in-the-white.

I've got one of their rifles. Best 1000-yard group so far was 6.75"

Just got off the phone with Peggy at safety harbor, she told me the only lower they sell comes marked "Cal .510 DTC" period. If I build a 50 BMG rifle, with a 50 BMG upper, I don't want it marked .510 DTC. I talked to a couple people, and thought about it, and this just didn't make sense, so I called her back to make sure. She confirmed her assertion was no mistake. :( I really wanted one of these too!

EDIT: I called back a third time to be told that not only was there no recievers in white for sale, but that he never remembered releasing a picture for public consumption. I didn't mind because this thread is pretty old, and I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning :(

Authorized for public release...
Serbu BFG50A semi-auto video, 2.6mb

But still no solid ETA on availability of the rifle.

Thanks Steven, I have found your list very helpful researching the different offerings of 50 BMG rifles and uppers.

Please note that the McMillian links do not seem to be working. Just trying to give something back.

Does anyone know if BohicaArms has a email address? Because I'm currently in Iraq, and if he is going to try to call me on my phone, it's obviously not going to work, so I need to get in touch with him via e-mail... Sorry if I overlooked it on the site somewhere, but I don't think I did.

Thanks guys,
Andrew

They totally revamped thier website and changed thier product line. Here is an email exchange. (Read from bottom to top.)

As of Jan 2007, we have gone strictly to that one model listed on our website with exceptions when you order in large quantities. Thanks

Subject: benchrest models in production?

Hello,
I maintain a BMG price list on AR15.com. Your new website only shows the Tac-50 as a production model. Are other models available as standard production? Please advise of any errors on the page.

Thank you,
Steve

FYI, the link for the Tactilite upper is not working...same thing with the Armalite single shot (look at the link, it's got too many http's in there)

Zel Custom Mfg. has added the Tactilite T2 (magazine-fed) upper to its line. It uses a 5-round magazine, made by Accuracy International. Like the Tactilite T1 (single-shot) upper, the T2 features a receiver that is CNC-machined from a single piece of steel billet. All critical receiver components and the scope rail are machined directly as part of the receiver. For 2010, the T1 in .50 BMG starts at $1798 and the T2 starts at $2298. Standard features include: free floating barrel, 7075 quadrail handguard and black CeraKote finish. Zel Custom offers a choice of barrel length and Lothar Walther barrel upgrades, which impacts pricing. Complete tech specs can be found here.

As a new comer into the 50 cal world...nice price and link list...I had to sponge the drool off my keyboard...
but given the turn of the year...you will need to update the Armalite one...With the National Match AR-50 A1...it will add one more to the list under ArmaLite...

anyone heard of the Sig SAN 511?

I tripped over it while browsing a LEO/MIL catalog and was wondering about pricing.

Is that the dressed up TAC-50 they're selling? It's something like 2-3K more then what you see a TAC-50 going for, SIG products are nice but I'm not paying that much more for a name.
