The front  of the barrel has three flats and a rounded portion
Is the rounded portion in the 12, 3, 6, or 9 o'clock position?

If it doesn't matter then I'm good, however seems like it should be oriented a certain way?

Rounded toward the bottom... but i recommend buying a CMMG P90 muzzle device. Fits factory threads. I have the 1/2 x 28 adapter as well and ran a bird cage at first and Ive also run an AAC muzzle device with my can.
