Haha yeah.  When I saw the FedEx shipment saying the weight was 9lbs I was worried I accidentally ordered more than just the book.  Nope, this thing is a massive beast.  Well worth the $ for sure.

It is a very nice book.

I do find it strange that FAL is refer to as LAR, (Fusil automatic Leger) is not mention anywhere, but the GPMG was descibed as MAG.

That's actually Fusil Automatique Leger.  LAR was the name of the semi-automatic version of the FAL that was imported into the US (at least) for civilian sales. And, I'm guessing they engraved it under the English translation of FAL. I bought one of the original ones and that's how they were labeled from the factory.

Pretty sure everyone refer to this rifle as FN FAL, rather it is L1A1, G1, R1 or C1 whatever. My FN Manual, right under the FN log, is FAL, not LAR. Don't you think it is odd that a FN offical book don't include original product name in native language? Does anyone call FAMAS in this name"Assault Rifle from the Saint-Étienne Weapon Factory"? I'm afraid not.
