I have two second gen PS90s, one is a black railed model SBR and the other is a black ring site model with 16" barrel. The sbr has maybe 300 rounds through it. The 16" has never been fired, but has been fondled/dry fired. I'm not going to part them out and don't really need to sell them. They just don't get used, so I figured I'd consider selling.

SBR is a tri-rail, the 16 inch is a standard.

The generation only pertains to the trigger pack.

You should try to make one cali compliant and sell it on calguns before december 15. Prob get a few hundred more that way. You'll need to buy a ps90 bullet button and a barrel extension or buttstock extension.

Best guess....

SBR Tri Rail - $1,600

Standard - $1,200

The excitement over trigger packs kind of dampened after aluminum replacement Gen I Hammers became available. Now for around $70 you can convert a Gen III Trigger pack to a Gen I configuration.

It wouldn't be a true gen 1 though because no auto sear, correct?

As I understand it it, the "autosear" (front sear) is the same in all trigger packs EXCEPT the Gen IV in which it was completely removed like on the semi auto Steyr AUG.  In addition there are people selling PS90 trigger packs modified with parts from Steyr AUG full auto trigger packs.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I have a gen 3 PS90 and have been hunting for a gen 1/2 pack.

You can buy a Gen1/2 Hammer and covert your Gen3 pack into a Gen1/2.
I'd provide a link to where but don't remember what site it was sold at.  Should be able to search though!

I thought there was a member of this forum that was visited by ATF after buying one of those hammers.

buying an aftermarket hammer just seems like you are trying too hard...

Gen 1 and Gen 2 can be exactly identical although some Gen 2 packs have a slight change making cleaning malfunctions more unlikely...

I have an unfired green stock PS90 NIB and a Tri rail PS90 that I shoot.

Is the green stock PS90 worth a premium?

Not always true.  Some packs have a disconnector which continues to make it always function as a gen 3/4.

It doesn't matter what trigger pack you have unless you are contemplating committing a Felony.

Not entirely true. They command a premium in the same way (albeit to a far lesser degree) that the semiauto sear cut FAL and dual pushpin semiauto G3S do. Because collectors put a premium on them.

Different counties have different laws. The laws referred to in the US don't apply to all situations. I prefer not to assume.

Different forums also have different policies. Here, speaking about how to make machine guns or even destructive devices is not prohibited - and the all packs are the same rhetoric isn't policy.

Sorry Pursuit.

It's not always illegal to make a destructive device or machine gun.

Therefore it is okay to discuss it here on these forums. In fact it is often discussed.

The mistake is assuming it is always illegal when in fact it's not. There are many circumstances in which it would be legal, and only one where it would be illegal. One could be a SOT, one could simply be studying mechanics, one could be working as an armorer for the gov, one could live in a country where laws allow it, etc.

Here is a thread on converting a Aug to a Machine Gun:
