I've been pleased with my current SCAR17 but wanted to see how this rifle shot. While I'm not the greatest shooter behind an autoloader, I can hold fairly decent groups. I tossed a Leupold MK6 on the rifle to see what accuracy potential this particular rifle has. With a 175gr handload that shoots very well in about everything else I own I was getting 2.5" groups. Granted I was fighting the stock trigger, but I was also getting signs of destabilization (grease ring on 1/2 of the bullet hole and slightly oblong) at 100 yds. I'll repeat the test with 168's and 155's soon, but the barrel "should" stabilize a 175gr bullet without issue. They're a little hot so they possibly need slowed down a bit and taylor'ed to this rifle. Anyone having issues getting 175's to shoot well out of the SCAR's 1/12" barrel?

What makes you think the SCAR 1/12 barrel would be fast enough twist for the 175 Grn Match bullets? All the newer sniper rifles designed for 175s use 1/11 or 1/10 barrels. Some 1/12 barrels may stabilize a 175 - but many do not. It is marginal at best.

Try some 147 S&B FMJ - my SCAR loves those!

I had a 1/12 barrel on a .308 Rem 700 that would shoot 175's well enough but not 178's. Was just wondering if anyone got 175's to group okay out of theirs. I'll load up some 168 and 155 BTHP's and try again.

I've ran some XM118LR through mine and while I don't remember group size I do remember not being impressed with it. I've had better groups with 168's and lighter.

While I've never done a formal accuracy test, I can vouch for 168ish being a laser from mine, I've never tried above that.

My SCAR has never done great but not bad with 175gr loads but 168FGMM does excellent in it.  I also have a G trigger in mine the stock one in mine was around 8-9# so it was hard to group well with it.

Mine shoots great using a FBSP Hornady 150gr handload. This is a group I shot from the magazine right before deer season last year.

168 GMM shoots great out of SCAR, but group I ever got was Black Hills 168 grain.

Mine is drastically better with 168's vs 175's. From 3 to 4 inch groups to a little over an inch using both grains in FGMM.

Tried 155's, 168's, 175's, and some Mexican match 147gr FMJBT from the rest with multiple skilled shooters. . Also installed a Black Friday deal Geissele Super SCAR trigger to see if it would help. Best I could get was 4-5" groups with the 168's. It is currently back at FN being sorted out. Hopefully they toss a new barrel on it and call it good.

my scar 17 shot 168 black hill match into 1" groups with a 3.5 ACOG on it. I think it is a fine rifle , loud but fine

Ditch the PWS MB. I put a silencerco FH on mine and the recoil isn't that bad.

Mine did okay with 155's & 175's but the 168's are where it really shines.  It shot all manner of 168's well.

Handloads got me a consistent 1moa with the occasional sub moa group.

FN claims the SEI vortex was causing the issues, and then claimed that when they shot it bare muzzle they noticed the crown was damaged. They recrowned it and are sending it back with a test target. We shall see. The 51T AAC mount goes back on as soon as it arrives. I'll wait to Rocksett it until I'm sure the accuracy issues have been revolved. Looking forward to wringing it out with the Leupold MK6 and Geissele Super SCAR trigger before putting the ACOG on it for good.

Well it's been recrowned and the shoulder was recut as well. Left in the white which was sort of disappointing. Test target looks promising. We will see tomorrow.

Never got a chance. Went hunting instead. Will try to get to the range soon and will definitely post a follow up.
