You might post this in the FN forum not the AR Discussion.

I think they used AAC to go with the AAC muzzle device.

The original can was the AAC SCARH-SD, which is no longer produced for commercial sale (I'm not even sure if it's produced at all).

The most recent pics of MK17s in service show them using the FN QD suppressors (probably the 701), which mount to their OEM flash hiders.

To see the suppressor, check p. 84 of their 2016 product catalog:
https://www.fnamerica.com/files/3714/5202/7093/3CLB150001_FNH_Catalog_Web.pdf

Yes, it would be amazing if FN would makes these commercially available, but I doubt that will ever happen.

ETA:

Old-school AAC SCARH-SD:

Newer FN QD Suppressor:

Note the OEM flash hider that ships with factory barrels, which is different than the AAC 51-tooth:

Looks like a Bushnell DMR/ERS/XRS in one of those shots, interesting.

I've also seen a few pics of MK20s with surefire cans.

ETA:

The surefires are also readily available, so that's what I bought for my SCAR.

surefire fa762k is what i use.  i have a socom mini waiting on a stamp.  the surefire cans are rugged, while not the most quiet out there they take a lot of abuse.

running it on bolt guns side by side with other brands cant tell the difference in sound but the return to zero after mount dismount cycles is 100%.  we also use it on our m249s and it got roasty toasty last weekend

we civilians are not restricted by what some whitehouse staffer thinks should be used to fight our wars why restrict yourself to the same idiots making your gear decisions??  the only restrictions we have is the full auto one.  if a staffer picks a good piece of gear like a scar17 to issue its more of a blind hog and acorn thing than it is any real understanding of what the military needs.

Man, those cans look really long.

I used a 9" TBAC 30P-1 for awhile on mine but am much happier with my ULTRA 7CB now.

Does the can come back over the barrel? They look really long. Is the military using 13" or 16" barrels on most of the issued rifles?

Both.  Some of them use over barrel mounts others not.  Some are 13 some 16.   I'm not a fan of over barrel mounts.  Makes keeping a barrel rust free a cast iron hillary
