You really just don't hear much about the FS2000 anymore.  I remember when I was in college this thing was the coolest kid on the block (2003-2007).  Do they still make them?  What does the pricing look like?  I was never a fan of the standard version with the goofy looking factory optic.  I liked the look of the tactical version with the flattop rail.  Just looked cleaner IMHO.  Do they have LEO pricing on them still?  I should have picked one up around 2009 but had other priorities.

I had one, sold it during the last panic. I think they're pretty neat, but a bit fat to hold, and complicated, with a few delicate looking plastic parts inside. The charging handle has a reputation for breaking or falling off.

I think it was pretty innovative at the time. IIRC the mags were a bit hard to insert and remove. I never shot mine, which I got from Gordon Miller at HKSpecialist.

They sell for about $1800 on GB, judging by the completed auctions.

FNH still lists it on their website.

Had it. Sold it. Got a Tavor. Too wide in the front, no last shot bolt hold open feature, mags don't fall free. I would have taken 2 out of the three. But all three was too many and it had to go. Really fun to shoot though. And mine was accurate.

I had one and really liked it. I also got mine from Gordon at HKSpecialist.
I ended up selling it to fund other builds.
After fingering a friend's Tavor, I would go that route instead of the FS.

For what these cost.  That is probably a deal breaker for me as well.

I suspect that FN didn't use a last round BHO as that would leave a fired case hung up in the switch, which could then cause a stoppage if the switch lost control of the case. As is, the fired case is passed off to the switch, which raises it to the ejection tube, and the case is immediately rammed into the ejection tube by the rammer on the bolt carrier as it goes forward.

Design is about compromises, and putting the ejection port out front is why I think the FS2000 is lacking a last round BHO.

The FS2000 is not really made for guys with little hands thats why they say its too wide.  the bolt hold open is a mental issue, but its YOUR money so spend it where you want.  The drop free mag is moot because of how the mag is released, you're already holding onto the mag to push the mag release. The rifle works well and has no issues.  It will perform as it should, all day every day. As with anything it may not be what you are looking for.  If you could find someone around you to try it out and shoot one before you buy would be the best.

I liked mine enough that I bought another.  I wanted one in each color.

I love mine.
Picked it up as it was lefty friendly and unique, after taking it to the range a few times it turned into my go to long gun.    Accurate enough for my blind eyes and clean up is super fast - due to both easy take down and cleaner running piston design.  "Tactical Tuna" jokes aside ergonomics fall into place once it is shouldered.

The top rail has enough room to mount EoTech 512 & flip to the side 3x magnifier.

Other than optics the only extras I have spent money on are the "judochop" solid aluminum cocking handle, a sling adapter specifically designed for the FS 2000 that allows unhampered removal of the shoulder pad/cleaning access area and a small storage case for cleaning supplies and spare batteries that is designed to fit inside the back compartment below the trigger group.

I have had zero issues with feed and function and as I have plenty of good USGI mags the inability to use PMAGS  is a non-issue.  I know others simply remove the o-ring thereby allowing PMAG to fit but why would I want to remove something designed to help keep the action clean?

As for no bolt hold open - I have never seen this as an issue.   With the flip up inspection tab it is super fast to confirm an empty chamber and magazine removal/replacement is very quick once you get used to it.

To sum up - although it gets none of the love that Tavors or AUGs do I have zero complaints and don't regret my purchase one bit.

I love mine as well. It is such a fan rifle to shoot and turns heads at the range. The dust cover popping open and sending brass falling out to the front is the FS2000's "Garand ping". Never had a problem with mine either.

good rifle, I have a standard model fs2000 with the "integral scope"

positives: accurate and reliable, balance is great, most natural shooting CQB carbine i have ever shot. even with the "integral scope" the optic is removable and compatible with picatinny rings (i have a grsc on it currently)

downsides: horrendously bad trigger that feels like a Staple gun (NEU trigger helps some, but still not great), selector lever is kinda awkward, lack of options for handgurads (really want a monolith arms handguard but too bad unavailable), Lack of options for iron sight replacement (on either model), mags dont drop free due to waterproof skirt in the mag well, some polymer mags wont fit in the mag well.

in comparison I have shot an aug, but not a tavor, i like the FS2000 more than the aug
