Take the velocity you get now. Add 100fps. Is that a game changer?

Probably not a game changer but I'd like to be a little more able to hit 1k even with the restraints of factory loads. 800 seems to be somewhat maxed out with 168gr amax on a 16in barrel. I'd like to try a 20in bbl with maybe a hot 208 load

I can hit at 1k with my 16" and 175s.

I can as well but not very consistent vs the feeling of throwing shots out there. Basically, I shot a competition with it and want to squeeze a little more consistency from the platform.

The extra barrel length will not make the rifle magically more accurate further out. Really the extra barrel length will probably do no better or worse than the 16". The ammo load, trigger, and shooter-mod will have the most profound difference than any barrel length change.

I've not heard an update in a long while though. I may need to ping my sources again to see what, if anything, has come of that misadventure. |
