What did you pick and why?  I going to order a new SCAR and I'm stuck on color of all things.  I'm tempted on going dark earth just because all my other rifles are black.

I got black but apparently the FDE has a different bolt with an additional lug.

I wanted FDE at the time, but went with black because I got such a good dfeal on it. There was a waiting list for the FDE.

Since I got the SCAR, I had a Sig 516 for a short period of time. It was FDE. I got it that color to make up for not getting the SCAR in FDE... Well, after having it a little while, I found myself wishing I had bought the 516 in black instead. I just didn't like the FDE as much as I thought I would once I actually had it. So now, I am glad I got the black SCAR instead...

I think SCARs were made to be and look 'right' in FDE - one of the few rifles in my opinion that do. And since so many people seem to agree, I found myself going the other way...

Can't go wrong with a black firearm, especially if it matches the rest of the collection. Those OD green FN heavies are gorgeous though. That said, I'm currently awaiting delivery of my first (black) 16s.

I looked at both colors, but I went with black because of the superior accuracy, and I am very happy I did.

Couldn't decide on the SCAR17S color choice, so I got both

Both colors had the 6 lug bolt under serial 19400 or so and both have the 7 lug bolt after then
Color has zero to do with it :)

I got a black 17S because at the time the FDE ones were impossible to find and if they were around they were going for like $500 over the black price.  I still wanted an FDE so I got a 16S in FDE.

If accuracy is important to you, the definitely go with FDE.

I might add that the Black at least some what matches on color if that is an issue for you.

I couldn't decide either. Ended up getting both. Black setup for more distance shooting and FDE for closer in. Figured the colors could help me tell them apart.

All Scars are FDE;  FN just paints some ones black.

I originally wanted FDE, just because it matches the desert scenery out here better than black. After getting burned from flaky sellers, I eventually found one for sale in a store, but all they had was black. Not a big deal to me though really, as I figure Krylon or whatever can take care of that if I feel so inclined.

I went with black for both 17s & 16s, mainly because I generally go against the grain & FDE is far more popular.

If you want it to be reliable go FDE

FDE.  All my other rifles at the time were all black (late 2011).  I wanted something different.  I do, however, own as many black mags as I do FDE.  I bought whatever I could find during the 2011-2012 magazine shortage.

FDE for everything but the moonboot.

Everything is better in FDE...even the 3 different shades the scar comes in.

FDE is the new black.  It's also cooler when shooting under the sun.

I have one of each.  The FDE is so odd in all it's color that I love it.
