Is there a way to run the OEM SCAR 17 lower with a 5 round magazine?  Just curious for hunting purposes.

just make your own follower block.  Should be pretty simple, made some for an AR15 back when my son hunted with one.

Yeah put a block in the mag not hard to do just test it before..  Also consider changing muzzle device to flash hider for hunting.  That rifle will ring your bell even if you hunt like me out of a blind in a blind be sure to get the muzzle out of the container.
