As the title asks, anyone have any first hand experience?
I can get a great price and I am intrigued by the design.

Thanks in advance for any input.

do it. The design is revolutionary and I believe it will change the industry. Problem is they are expensive, so if you can get a great price do it. Get while the gettins good.

What is the total weight of the unit you are running and does it take care of the blowback in the face when running suppressed?
I have a SCAR-H SD and it's bad enough I just don't run it anymore suppressed.

We are running a demo OSS on a demo SCAR 17.  Works like a dream and very pleasant to shoot.  We have about 500 rds though it with no issue.

How quiet is it compared to others.

Thanks for the info everyone. I went ahead and bought it.
I submitted my trust and form 4 the other day.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that with another muzzle device and swapping one part, I can run this on my AR as well! Bonus!
When I get my stamp......I will come back and provide more info.

As to the blowback, from what I see the design is such that it does not come back in your face.

not sure about the weight, but the design parameters of the OSS is to eliminate blowback common in other suppressor systems.

It is not the quietest can on the market, but then again it wasnt meant to be

It stops the first round pop
It eliminates blowback
Sacrificial baffles are a thing of the past with this design.
with its octagonal  shape it reduces the heat mirage common in round suppressors

Again, thanks for the info.
I called the NFA hotline and I am currently "pending."
Who knows how long this will take.
When I get my stamp and item I will update.

Dealer called and the stamp is in. I am going to pick it up tomorrow and maybe find time to put a few rounds through it.
I don't have a sound meter so I will go by dead reckoning on the sound.

Will you post up some pics once you have it in?  I am interested and considering one of these over my FA762SS for the same application.

Thanks,

When I upload the pics and videos to Photobucket I will link them.
In the meantime, satisfy your curiosity with the fact that I was completely amazed by this product.

Yeah no kidding, I also like how the internals are replaceable.  So you don't have to do the NFA process again as you would  if you "shoot out" a conventional suppressor.

I have been remiss in uploading pics to a hosting site. I do apologize.
Now that I upgraded my membership I think I can host them here? I'll figure it out one day.

So, on two subsequent trips I corrected my POI issue at 100 yards.
Was low and left about 4 MOA at 100 yards. (Yes, I let it warm up.)
Once corrected it held good grouping. When I post a pic I will let you judge for yourselves.
Moved to 200 yards and was having a little trouble, not with the groups, but with POI.
Figured it out and it worked well.

The noise reduction remains impressive and I feel is in line with the guy shooting a suppressed 7.62 AR next to me last week.
I truly appreciate what I percieve as a reduced recoil impulse as well.

Removed the FHMB part and sprayed it out and cleaned the mount as it was a little tough to get off after 500 rounds.

So, it's still working well.

Thanks for the interest everyone.

Hoping NikolaFermi can post the stuff I emailed him as I am not sure how to resize down to 1 meg on my iPad. Sorry for the delay.

Was using Federal M80 149 Gr.

I can't get the video resized on my iPad. Yet.

Anyone know how to resize on iPad?

Nick,

I just got approved for my OSS 7.62. it will go on my scar 17s.

Question, I got the regular FHMB (Not for Scar Shoulder). Which one did you get, is it for the Scar or standard 7.62 shoulder on the FHMB? Im afraid that I will get tremendous POI shift. Please let us know what you went with. Trying to find a solution to get it squared to the shoulder of the scar barrel if there is a big poi shift.

Glad you joined the club!
I got the standard FHMB and had the shop remove my factory break and install new.
Works flawlessly.
POI shift was minimal and in line with installing a suppressor.

what trigger do you have?

Factory trigger for now. I figured since everyone complains about it I had best become proficient before I swap it out.

Nick,

Thank you so much for your reply! Much appreciated bud! I feel much better now about my choice to go with the standard FHMB, as I didn't want to get the FHMB tuned for the scar and make my OSS proprietary to the Scar H only.

I'm glad it worked for you!
Maybe I'll see you at ASC sometime this summer.
