Maybe I should have posted here to begin with...

See:  http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_51/425712_PS90__which_model_to_SBR_and_best_barrel_solution_.html

I did some more research and found a common issue is the stock cracking when a can is used...  any truth to that?

I have never heard of the stck cracking on a silenced ps90...it seems the p90 would do the same and there is no complaints I know of and this platform is a favorite of the "tier 1" crowd to bitch about if it was common it would be well documented.

supposedly LE can get subsonic rounds for a decent price and they are lowered powered so less stress on the stock.

I just got a barrel from HDD. As usual terrible customer service and shipping times, but it looks good. haven't installed or shot it yet.

How much and how could I go about getting one? Thanks!

I would send the factory PS90 barrel to TROS and have them cut it down to 10.4"

You would then have quality clone of the factory P90 barrel.

You plan on mounting a supressor on it?  If you are, check for concentricity.  I found out it wasn't concentric until about a 3/4 year later and beginning a long quest.

So the bore was different between the suppressor and the barrel? HDD issue?

Give me $4,000 and I will get one to you.

Google Hi-desertdog and scroll through his sight. Terrible customer service though. I have also found another brand going for $400ish on gunbroker, but know nothing about them.

No.   Baffle strikes due to non concentricity.  My story is out there on fnforum.net.  Might want to check on barrels there too.

Again, send your PS90 factory barrel to TROS.

He has cut down OVER 500 PS90 barrels. He has encountered TWO factory barrels with excessive run out.

Just a heads up in case you didnt know, like i didnt. Apparently you should select the caliber as 5.7 even though 5.7x28 is available in the drop down menu.

Well, hopefully they will let mine go too

ETA: If you don't mind, please let me know what your turn around time is with TROS. Heard they are really good at what they do but sometimes it takes a long time.

So i just got my tros barrel back, i have a gemtech ps90 flash hider im going to use.
I understand the torque for the barrel is 30 ft/lbs.
I don't have a torque wrench; anyway to get an idea of how hard to tighten it using my mk1 elbow and hand?
Will it be bad if its not properly torqued?

I'm also guessing even after torquing the barrel, the barrel will still wiggle a bit back and forth?
Thanks

Mine was 42 days... I first tried to drill out the pin, but didn't have any luck, so I chop-sawed it about halfway between the pin and receiver.

Your times will vary but mine took 22 days, I cut the barrel with a sawzall just behind the pin in the flashhider.

Thanks for the replies guys. I figured that's the best/fastest/easiest way to go. I really need to get my Trust setup(live in NC) so I can get my PS90 SBR'd!

I can't remember the proper steps, but do you have to get NFA required gravings before or after your tax stamp is done?

You don't have to wait for the stamp to get the engraving done.

Where did you guys put the engraving? I'm assuming it has to be visible at all times. Sorry for the noon questions I'm just making sure I know all the steps. Once I have the money and trust fund I gotta get this done
