anyone heard of a street price? I'm with you on FN15 rifle...i love FN...(repair/warranty service wait time is terrible though FYI) I am in the process of getting a repair done and it's been over a month and they haven't touched it yet. I sent a pistol to Smith and Wesson once..not only did they pay for shipping they also got it back to me in 9 business days from when it arrived...sorry for the rant.

It sucks they only offer the carbine in 16" and the receiver extension is 6-position (instead of mil-standard 4), but I bet both rifles are sweet.

"Both the new FN 15™ Rifle and FN 15™ Carbine offer shooters a new take on a familiar and popular platform."
I'm on board for a 20" but that line bugs me. |
|
|
It's just a sales pitch.. At least they didn't resort to carbon fiber and pink camo finishes like the former king of the hill...

Opps The FN 15™ Rifle has a 20-inch chrome-lined, alloy steel barrel and is available in 5.56mm NATO. The polymer forearm and fixed butt stock are both black, and the total length is 39.5 inches. The FN 15™ Rifle also features an A2-style compensator and a 1:7-inch RH twist rate. It comes with fixed A2-style front sights, a removable M4-style rear carrying handle, and one GI pattern 30-round aluminum magazine. Never mind not very excited anymore... |

Nothing wrong with a CMV barrel, Colt, FNH or otherwise. I do agree it would have been better to use a CHF barrel but I'm still interested depending on the price.

|
First shipment due to Browning has already shipped. Others to follow, but all I know right now is the first batch have left.

They advertise their SCAR barrels as hammer forged (http://www.fnhusa.com/l/products/accessories/carbines/scar-barrels/).
I assume they are using button-rifled barrels per the milspec (i.e., TDP). But, with non-milspec features like 6-position stock, I'm not so sure they are sticking as close as possible to milspec. |

I assume these barrels are CMV like the PSA ones they made. |

Just held one today....They are very nice......Looks like price is going to be $999.99ea.......16inch or 20 inch.....I've been told that they are being produced and will probably be shipping the first quarter of 2014..
|
|
Im curious as to how close the 20 inch gun is to the M16A4's they made. If its the same deal, minus the lower and trigger group, I think it would be a great part of any collection.

Reoil magazine did a special FN products magazine this month. The FN 15 is featured and they have lots of pics. I didn't pick up the mag yet, but I am sure you can find it at any place that sells Recoil.

Page says barrels are button rifled not CHF.
Don't know if they updated recently. Aren't FN M16s button rifled anyway? |

That photo is one of the lowers made years ago for IIRC internal use and a few employee gifts. One of those lowers made it onto the commercial marketplace and that's the photo you saw. |

Saw one at the Camfour show in CT, early this week. Spoke with the FN rep who said it did not offer any advantages over a base model 6920. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/t31/1015165_787639974583510_899009278_o.jpg View Quote Of course not, it IS a 6920........ |

Any detailed pics of the lower? View Quote There is in the most recent Recoil magazine. Unfortunately the left side if the magwell does NOT have the fn logo engraved. It just says: Model: FN15 Cal Multi Serial xxxxx I hate that it says multi and I hate that they put the logo in white on the left side. |
|
That is sweet and exactly what I want. The FN logo engraved on the left side and 5.56 instead of multi. Hopefully they revert back to this.

Is the 20in HB or Gov't aka pencil? It's hard to find a 20in that's not heavy. Maybe I'll just have to go old school to get what I want.

My LGS will have 3 of the 20" in on Tuesday!!!! I am excited to put my hands on it!
