I have had this on my to do list for a long time and this barrel is very tempting.  What do you guys know about using an FN barrel?

I don't know about using an OE P90 barrel, but if you find a source for barrels and/or flash hiders please let me know.  I've had my tax stamp back for months, just looking for a barrel for retail price.  Hi Dessert Dog has the barrels, but they have been listing them one at a time on gunbroker to fuck their customers.  I've had one back ordered and I'm sure others have, but instead of filling back orders they would rather show their customers what they think of them.

This.  That's what I did - but good luck finding the P90 flash hider since CMMG doesn't make them anymore.  Gemtech offers a bi-lock P90 flash hider that looks the same...

TROS is behind six weeks, I have talked with him.  The Gemtech PS90 flash hider has been out of stock for months.

Sorry for the thread hi-jack

I bought a PS90 back in 2006 for $1,400 or so and went with a CMMG barrel and installation service.  Total cost to have an SBR PS90 was around $2,200.

what do you do about those incredibly long threads when you want to mount a can?

SBR PS90 would be pretty cool, but the gun is already pretty cool as is...   I would rather SBR a Tavor since the caliber changes would give you more stuff to play with.

Any ideas on how to find and remove the blind pin in the factory barrel?
Link Posted: 4/6/2013 9:44:24 PM EDT
[#8]
It's simple to find, it's the pin just below the flash hider.  I've read it must be drilled out.

I just used an AR-15 bi-lock.

I'm weakly lobbying CMMG to make these again in the industry forum.  Please hit this and let them know you're interested.

Hell I like the attempt...I would put a link to the thread in the FN forums, PS90 forums, and 5.7 forums....that might help.

I know, for me, if I can't SBR the PS90, I don't the PS90....especially the way ammo is...

I'd be happy if they made that .22LR conversion kit they were showing off a few years ago.

Lol, well at least they actually made the SBR barrels...

SBR'd mine with CMMG barrel and 1/2x28 end-cap/adapter.

Worked awesome -

Pushed the old barrel out with a wooden dowel, pushed the wooden dowel out with the new barrel, and bingo it was done.

Didn't take very long.  Runs like a top - and amazingly didn't have to adjust my sights.  Hits like a champ.

That and it runs nice with my .223 suppressor.

I have found another source of barrels and OE style flash hiders (not the clowns at hi-dessert dog).  I have sent my money order off for one and will update when it arrives.  They are available in chromemoly with 1/9 or stainless with 1/8.  I opted for stainless.

Quarter Circle 10 llc is the manufacturer.  I'm the guinea pig I suppose as to if they deliver and work.

That works for me....personally, I'd rather use the factory barrel and just cut/thread it than a completely unknown company.

While I find the weight of the barrel hanging off the end unpleasing, aesthetically alone, I would like the characteristics with the shorter barrel even more.  How quickly it can transition and the added weight loss are some other key benefits….as with any SBR.

That having been said, yes it is very short.  It is about an inch shorter than my DDMK18.

Nope. Kind of tricky to put a silencer on a non-SBR one for starters.

Still waiting on my barrel, had to mail in a money order.  With shipping for the flash hider and one in eight barrel both in stainless it was 412 and some change.  Will provide updates when it arrives.

What kind of accuracy to do you guys get with your sbr'd PS90's?  I found what I think is a smoking deal on one... just debating on whether or not I would enjoy it in the unlikely event I find ammo for it.

My experience with my sbr at a 25 yard zero.  Able to hit a gong at 300 yards from prone and kneeling.  100 yard standing.  Using AE 40 grain

In my experience - what you hit with your 16'' PS90, you will hit with your 10.25'' PS90.

I didn't even have to adjust my sights!

When you're ready to commit, or are 4 months into the wait for the stamp, break out the hack saw. Yup, just saw the barrel off right behind (towards the receiver) the blind pin. The barrel shroud will simply thread off. Get a 3/8" wood down and push the barrel out to capture all of the recoil/barrel springs. Send the barrel off to Tros or HighdesertDog (I had the latter cut/thread mine) and wait for the stamp to clear. CMMG made a great PS90 flash hider and 1/2x28 adaptor (I'm using the later and running a Silencerco SS Sparrow). I still haven't held or used anything like an SBRed PS90. A keeper for sure.

Alright here are the pics as promised.  I still have to get my receiver engraved before I can assemble it then I can give a range report.

Hope those work for you guys.  The manufacturer is Quartercircle 10 and I think they are only available on gunbroker.

You can have the standard barrel cut down. I believe TROS and a few others offer the barrel cut down.
