Hey guys, so I'm looking to buy my first autoloading shotgun and being an FN SCAR owner, the FN SLP caught my eye.

Do any of you guys have experience with this family of shotguns? Any recommendations?

Initially the 18" SLP caught my eye but lately I've been looking at the 22" competition model pictured below.

The SLP is a great shotgun. They are very reliable. Only negative on them is they are on the heavy side. I have a 22" SLP Mark 1 that I've used in 3 gun. It requires little maintenance to keep running and shoots very soft.

I've been using the 18" police version as a work gun for close to a decade, I prefer it over the benelli M4 or it's predecessor,
as stated, maintenance is almost non existent and up till the new versamax it's also been the softest shooting auto out there.

I still consider it the benchmark, but the versamax has got me intrigued.
