Had anyone already tried this combination? How well does this ACOG work with the SCAR 17?

Works pretty good but for the same amount of money you could get a bushnell 1-6.5 (your choice of reticle and FFP or SFP) or a Horus blackbirdii 1-8.

What do need/want the optic to do for you?

Shoot from 100 to around 600 yards.

Anyone else have an opinion about this scope? It is on sale at Botach for $1060 until the end of today.

I plan on getting one for mine. My dad has one on his FAL and it's great; not really a precision scope but for a tough as nails general purpose optic
it's awesome. After shooting open sights my whole life I don't really feel the need to have a 10x scope on a battle rifle anyways. Plus, for long distance
shooting the reticle allows you to use a fairly accurate holdover without fucking with adjustable scope turrets.

Until I can get one of my own, I am using a TA 01 ACOG on my SCAR 17, and I have found that when using my grip pod and a sandbag as a rear rest,
I am really limited by the ammo more than by the low magnification of the optic. With a 4x optic and handloads, it's no problem to hit an 8" steel plate at 500 yards.
Good enough for me.

Its what I have been using on my Scar 17 since I bought it. Works great for me, but I have only tried it out to 150 yards. But still no problems. When I pick up another 308 AR this year I will get another one for that rifle.

Thank for the feedback. I went ahead a bought one anyway. However, I am a little annoyed that I bought one yesterday because they said the sale was over in 24 hours. However, they are still on sell. Flipping marketing gimmicks. Hate when they work.

Go for the ACOG! you'll love it.... If you actually get it from Botach afaik they're some pretty shady folks.
Give a man a gun and he'll be able to proctect his family, Give a man an AR, proper training and teach him what the 2A's really about and suddenly politicians aren't so scary anymore.

It is on back order for 4 - 6 weeks, but for the price I can wait. As for Botach, I bought a CompM4 ($499), Aimpoint Magnifier ($399), and some PMags from them without any issue. Not really worried about it and I am patient.

I have a TA-11 on my SIG 556 and love it. Its not for long range sniping but does a great job for anything in between.

Got to be the disenting view. Bought a TA11h-308g, and am not happy with it. Can't figure out why, but I keep swapping it out. I think I'd have been happier with the red reticle.

Could it be because of the horseshoe? I received my TA11E-G on Friday and so far I really enjoy it. Now to be honest, I have not taken it to the range yet due to a family trip this weekend. However, I very much look forward to my next range trip to try it out.

No, I think it's the size/weight/balance of the 11. I have a red reticle 31h and LOVE it on the Scar, but of course, the BDC is wrong...and it's 4x. The TA11 just seems a little big, I bought the Scar for gram conscious weight reduction, adn with the TA11 it just is slightly more unwieldy. It can't weigh more than a few ounces more than the 31, but something about the larger package just doesn't balance out well for me. I really like the horseshoe on the 31h. It's red. :)

Take a look at TA55A as well. Looks kind of goofy but its an amazing optic and perfect for ringing steel at 600 yards.

That thing is ginormous, but I love it. Used it overseas on a 20" rifle and it was awesome
