THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I want one that came with the factory rail not adapter. I also plan on making it a SBR if I like it. Questions What's the difference betwen the generations? What should I look for when buying one? What are they going for? Whats the difference between the trirail and standard? can you put a rail on a standard? |

the 1st gen ones are easily converted to FA, then can be easily converted back, IIRC ATF made them change the design.

Fun range toy. The ammo used to be expensive, but is about on-par by today's standards, and it still hasn't really changed since 2005: about 40 cents (USD) per cartridge of SS196 or SS195LF. In 2005 when 223 Rem / 5.56 was 10-20 cents a cartridge, 5.7x28 seemed expensive. In 2012 when 223/5.56 is about 30-40 cents a cartridge, 5.7x28 at 40 cents isn't that bad.
The recoil impulse is short and sharp, but it's almost like shooting .22LR. The magazines are slow to fill up to 50 rounds, the mag changes are slow, the trigger sucks - it is essentially a really stiff super soaker trigger, and the scope height over bore is ridiculously high. |

The guns and the ammo are getting hard to find. I think using them on Top Shot several times made them more popular. I bought the pistol first. My brother in law bought the PS90. HE liked it so much bought a second one so I got one.

Some people seem to think so.
Barrowed from another site: Gen 1: Black pack body, black hammer, OD green semi sear, auto sear present. Gen 2: Gray pack body, black hammer, OD green or gray semi sear, auto sear present. Gen 3: Gray pack body, gray or white hammer, gray sear, auto sear present. Gen 4: Gray pack body, black, gray, or white hammer, gray sear, no auto sear. (As JHS mentioned, the hammer in a Gen 4 may actually be black but the defining characteristic is that there is no auto sear.) As you can see, there are some variations, so the real evolution is defined by: Gen 1 to Gen 2: Old, black P90 style pack body to the gray pack body. Some Gen 2s get the gray semi sear. Gen 2 to Gen 3: Black hammer replaced with gray (or sometimes white) hammer and all semi sears are now gray. Gen 3 to Gen 4: The auto sear is removed. With this change, FN apparently began to use a variety of internal color variations, but all semi sears will remain gray. There also appears to be variations between generations with subtle changes in parts colors. Ultimately some people seem to think that paying more for a Gen 1 or 2 trigger pack is worth more money. Considering that a conversion to full auto by anyone other than a class 3 manufacturer will land you in Federal-pound-me-in-the-ass-prison, it’s pretty much irrelevant. I've spent some time behind a P90 and while it is initially fun (especially when someone else is paying for the ammo), after a while in gets a little old. |

I Have taken turkey, yotes, racoons possums, and other varmits the tri rail isextermemley adaptable and especailly suited for mounting a red or green laser on. My only complaint is the brass ejects strait down so get a brass catching bag otherwise I have hadbradd go into front button shirts, up shorts pants legs or down waistbands and it is very hot. |
