THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I have been out of it for a little while and neglecting my SCAR. It's time to give myself a little more real estate to put my hand out slightly further. What say you guys?
Thanks in advance.

Never shot a scar myself but I love me some PWS. They make great products and have a fine looking rail for the Scar in their catalog. www.primaryweapons.com

Travis, formally of Magpul, has a nifty video on youtube concerning the scar and the pws rail. search for "How to run a SCAR like a boss".

why would a scar need another rail ON THE FRONT? ther is one at 12, 6, 3 & 9 o' clock am I missing something?
The only things you should be allowed to buy with food stamps is a fishing pole, bait and ammo (me).

I don't need to mount anything really, and I would LOVE a rail that just went to the gasblock. I just want to put my hands out a little farther on the rail, I'm 6'2" but I have ape like arms.
Thanks guys!

Okay so a little more searching revealed the Branham rail, but I can't find it for sale anywhere except aimsurplus and apparently they've been sold out for some time now.

Because the rails are short. Some people like to move their support hand out further.

My SCAR 17s w/ Branham rail extension. I'm a big fan of it, the extra 2'' allows me to get my hand farther out on the rail which is what I'm comfortable with. The quality seems top notch. I originally had it on my 16s and just recently switch it over to this, because I plan to shoot this more often than the 16s.

I have both; the PWS on my 16 and the Branham on the 17.
Of the two I prefer the PWS....the weight is actually nearly identical between the two because the PWS is so well machined to minimalize the mass. The Branham is great but fairly stout for such a short gain in length.

There is also the factory FN extension, which is the bulkiest and presumably the heaviest of them all.

VLTOR is still stating May availability for their extension on their website....If I didn't already have the other two I'd probably try one of these

http://www.vltorstore.com/casv-scar-scar-handguard/

There is also an extension piece that makes it similar to the PWS in length....you can probably find pics in a SHOT Show thread somewhere on here.

I installed the PWS and it works perfectly. Very solid mount which allows me to get my arm out for stability.

I own both the PWS and Branham rails... PWS is much better quality and build.

I'd really like to get my hands on a Tango Down rail.

I contacted Branham a couple of months ago and they stated at the time they had no plans to produce more rails...:/ My plan was to purchase a pws and chop it most likely, but I wanted to wait to see how the tango down rails hold up.

NOT REAL SURE WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT THERE TANGO.

Hi fellas Arlie Branham here.
I can assure you that no body contacted me about the rails and asked if I was going to make more.

Those of you with the kind words....I appreciate it. I put a lot of work into those rails.

Thanks for your support and hopefully I come up with some more ideas in the future.

This.

I've seen WTB ads posted stating that they would pay well over retail for a Branham rail extension.

When did you hear this? As of early April they were "studying the market"...

Apologies for not being more specific, I spoke with sales at AIM suplus (2-24-12), who stated (possibly erroneously) that the rails were out of production and weren't going to be produced any more. If this is not true, it's a HUGE relief. Can you confirm these are still being produced and if so when/where can they be purchased...
Thanks,

Aim placed a order with me for 100pcs. I delivered them and they sold them. If there is enough interest then more can be made. I would need to make at least 50 of them for it to be worth my time. Is the 50 Guys floating around that want one ? Idk. But that's pretty much going to be my min. Order and that's pushing it.

So yes, more can be made however its all about demand.

There are people cutting down PWS rails because they don't want them that long. I'd be in for two of them right out the gate. There is little doubt you would sell out quickly on a 50 to 100 piece run as they still come up in conversations about rails months after they sold out. Your rail takes things out a couple inches and covers up the gas block without adding any viable weight... just about a perfect equation.

Agreed, I'd buy one as well. May be worth it to investigate a group buy option. I have posted a poll over on fnforum as well.

I’m in for another Branham extension. Have three already and they are awesome. A friend of mine wants one as well.
