Spoke to Browning yesterday 4-20-2012. I'm still waiting for Gas Control Screws(still back ordered to FN) after Marvin chopped the barrel on my SCAR.
I asked about the barrel assemblies, she had no idea if they were going to be offered to the public. Not very encouraging.

I dont own a scar or a acr and this crap is why... Anybody else notice as soon as acr assemblies started to show up and bushy said they were a few weeks out all of a sudden fn decided they could now release barrels. After it turned out bushy was just blowing hott air again then like majic fn realeses a couple then goes back to on hold.. Its obvious there's no money in the assemblies and as long as there's no competition on the market we all have to suffer. These companies really piss me off, im willing to purchase a rifle but it's like they dont care so I dont care. There playing all of us and it's completely rediculous.. Im suprised the shooting public has put up with it for this long without really giving them hell.. Sure we have all pitched fits but what both of these companies are doing is just wrong.. The worst part is there fucking themselves in the long term due to there pencil pushing market analysts.. There sitting on the next ar15 freaking idiots.

This always happens with FN. Believers get rowdy and get rabid, doubters are the ones who've heard it before.

I sincerely hope FNH gets these out but they've said it a dozen times and it never happens.

Welp, they did say "this year" and it's only April. They have some months to go.

I just ordered 3 gas control screws from Midwest that are too small. Sent em to my machinist to open them up to 1.8mm 1.85mm and 1.90mm. Talked to a guy named Dave and he was rather rude and impatient. I wish there were more places to get parts and I would have told him to stick his attitude in his ass.

Apparently some dealers are already selling SBR SCARs.

www.mooneysfirearms.com out of Round Rock, TX list SCAR 16S with 10 inch barrel for sale on their webpage. I have no affiliation with them but they are selling the complete Factory FN SBR's on the civilian market as an NFA item.

looks like they are just selling the whole gun as a sbr , and not upper reciever assemblies.

The upper receiver is the gun.

Well in an attempt to help you all out I sold my scar 16S.
I figured the day after I sold it spare barrels would become availible, so we will see if that's true.

Snip3down... Parts come in yet?

Will there be different twist rates for the 17 barrels? Namely 1/11

I bought a 16" SCAR 17s barrel last night; SBR barrels are not out there yet but the 16" FN OEM barrel assemblies are available. This 2nd barrel will be getting the 13" CQC chop.

Was this a take off or a new production barrel?
