They really crapped the bed by not doing this earlier. |

It would be nice to have a factory 14 inch barrel to go with my cut down 10.5.

Well, I WOULDN'T hold my breath, if I were you, but apparently the key to making this happen was to allow assembly of the barrel assembies in the USA. The barrels, as I understand were already made in the USA, but they were shipped to Herstal for assembly.
While I'm not betting the house on it, apparently this isn't a "kinda sorta" thing. They ARE doing this and it will happen sooner rather than later, if their reps are to be believed. AWESOME news, IMO. If they offer a 14" barrel assembly, I'm in for one. If they just offer the 16" assembly, I'll buy it and cut that bad boy down. :) |

When I have a second barrel the BATFE NFA branch will get more paperwork to process.

I spoke to two reps in the FN booth today at SHOT. They said that spare barrel assemblies will be available June 2012. They are manufactured in the USA.
Approximate cost is $1,000.00 retail. It will include 10.00, 14.? and 16 inch barrels. Lets just hope it happens. Hope that helps. |

I know it won't happen, but I think it would be pretty cool if they'd offer a 300BLK barrel.

ive allways liked the scar and this is cool, but 1000 dollars a barrel? i dont know man, ive allways been on the edge of getting a scar 17, and picking up a spare barrel for long range shooting, but for the cost of spare barrel i could get a remington 700 5r, if i was looking to go SBR, i would just have adco cut back the barrel.
spare barrels are good to go, just not sure i would be intested a new barrel vs cutting one back? |

FNH has lost there f**king mind... I can understand the few barrels that have been available on GB selling for $800 because of the difficulty to obtain one... But 1k for a domestically made non-imported barrel is absolutely ridiculous I would be in for a 10" CQC if $500 or less |

For a grand I'd say they are smoking crack. Might as well buy another rifle at that price.

I also spoke with FN at shot. It's going to happen. He rattled off all the standard lengths 10, 14, 18 for 5.56 and 13, 16, and 20 for 7.62. Good deal. Also apparently they are starting up an new line for the mags here in the states to alleviate demand on the scar heavy mags. Also the Voltor rail extension and both buttstock options look great.

If it's a package deal then it's not too bad if all of the barrels have the requisite parts installed, are tuned to function properly, and do not void the factory warranty. |

I'm going to have to say that's per barrel. Considering how much a basic CHF AR barrel costs stripped, that would be a steal for it to have all the other parts. |
