Thank you guys for the input. I'm looking at the Silencerco Trifecta FH so that I can get the Saker if I ever PCS out of DE. Overly liberal morons don't understand the many benefits of suppressors here.

ETA: can't own a page on a pic thread without a pic...

Which model ACOG did you go with?

I ran a few rounds through the SCAR yesterday with a SF Warden attached and Stephen H dubbed it the "loudenator".

Cheers

It's funny - the SCAR 16 never did anything for me, but an SBR'd SCAR 16 just looks so damn good.

I want one.

It's the RCOA4. I got it off the EE for a deal sweet enough that I couldn't resist. I'm going to replace it soon with a NF 2.5-10X32 because I don't think that fixed 4X does the SCAR real justice, but it works very well in the interim.

Sort of a SCAR picture. Trying out these Blue Force Gear ULoops. Great solution for mounting a sling to the SCAR.

Money well spent. I like them. Planning on ordering a few more in fact.

I have one on mine. Works for now, but gets in the way when I shoulder it while slung. I plan on getting the SAS soon and using the integral QD mount instead.

Humor me, why the "loudenator"?  Does it make the brake louder?  Or is it just because it's way louder than suppressed (making you appreciate the can)?

All other things aside, I've gotta say I love the look of the CQC length SCAR, it's definitely a pugnacious looking beast, and it >gasp< just looks right with an EOTech 553.

I agree that the 553 looks great on the SCAR, however it is kind of "beamy" for the narrow profile of the weapon.

I think the 553 looks the best on about everything, someday I'd like to pick up a black one for mine.

I really like the 553 and the 3x magnifier really does make a big difference.

having said that, I don't use the SCAR as my home defense rifle so I'm not too concerned about the eotech issues.  i haven't experienced any of the know issues, but again, i haven't used it enough to be able to speak on them.

i have an elcan os4x i also use on the SCAR. i could switch optics out if i really needed to.

Updated: replaced the RCOA4 with a Nighforce NXS 2.5-10x32mm that I just picked up off the EE, added a KDG stock and removed the surefire 952v. Great light but too damn heavy. I'll save it for a Block 1/1.5 that I plan on building later. Thinking of my last touch being a FDE TLR-1 HL with the long gun kit on the right side. What say the groupthink about that one?

I have mine set up near the same......although i have the kinetic forend instead of the ACR stock.  I sent my form1 in yesterday.......so i will be replacing my NF 2.5-10 with an elcan 1-4 or something.  I love the rifle as its set up though.

Is the light going to illuminate what your shooting at with a 2.5-10x scope? If not, I'd just leave it as is.
