I'm in FL too and wouldn't mind mounting my scar in a rack like thst in my car. Who makes that model?

Is this barrel cut?
What exact FH mount is that?

Thanks!

There currently are no extended rails made for SCARs… So I made one.

Cut aluminum rod stock, hand cut PWS rail (used, fresh from eBay), JB Weld. The rod pieces were shaped to take out some of the roundness; they were swaged/driven into a bed of JB Weld bed slathered into the interior lateral rail hollows. I never used the long one (for the top rail):

Detail of the interior seams; the pieces had already been roughened with a file, washed, and degreased with alcohol:

Masked, clamped & ready:

After assembly, the rail sat out in the direct July Florida sun for four hours to hasten curing.

The result:

While I had the whole thing apart, I replaced the stock rails – they'll keep me from burning my hands as often.

SF switch for main light, the newly-acquired green LASER/Universal Translator:

Damage Industries rail section under Magpul MBUS (JB’ed & bolted in place):

I have no qualms about the sight melting – a mate of mine’s run one atop an Adams Arms piston for years; if he can’t get the frakking thing to Chernobyl after running ~250 rounds in less than ten minutes, I doubt I’ll be able to.

Top view:

Right side. More sweet LaRue goodness holding the SF main, and EagleTac secondary.

R&A BAD. It replaces the stock bolt catch. I ditched the Magpul one I’d modded after I “ADed” during a session of (thankfully) dry-fire practice:

Latest version of an attempt to make a silent rear sling mount; welded steel ring & Spectra cord. I've run it for just over a month – so far, no fraying/wear on the cord (as yet):

My homages to all KIA cops… And the guys from whom I’ve shamelessly stolen much of my Departmental training material from:

The barrel is not cut. I intended to, but know I think I will leave it.

The flash hider is the AAC miter.

That looks awesome.
Just bought a 16s and it will look just like that.

Compared to my old duty rifle with a 15" MI rail:

I'd call the modded PWS rail about 14.5" long:

Sucks you only let it do CQC. Think some day you will drop the CQC part and just let it be a SCAR and play with all the other rifles?
It's not bragging if you can back it up

Okay, I finally got mine set up how I want.

EOTech XPS2 (biohazard reticle - don't laugh, it's all Cabela's had in stock and I didn't feel like waiting on an Internet order).

Surefire G2 LED at 9 o'clock.

Beamshot GB2000 5mW green laser at 6 o'clock, with pressure switch on VFG with electrical tape. (This is a change from the laser sight in my first post above, which was a handgun laser. The GB2000 is a proper
rifle laser). Might be hard to see the Beamshot at this angle - but it is sticking out slightly in front of the Surefire.

Bipod VFG (another change from the "stubby" Magpul VFG in my first post above. I decided I wanted my bipod VFG on my SCAR, so the stubby went back on my M-4).

The SCAR sure is a sweet assed gun!

Barrel cut down to 14.25", permanently attached AAC blackout FH (OAL barrel length of 16.125), trijicon acog ta31 on gg&g qd mount, modded the grip area so it accepts ar15 grips, added the magpul miad grip. Thats about it for now. Scars really dont need much... Rifle looks 100% better with the shorter barrel IMO. The only thing left on my wish list is a geiselle trigger.
