Ghetto,

How much did the ACOG set you back?

I am thinking EO Tech or Aimpoint for mine.

Not me, but here it is in action

I'm planning to get a tango down verticle foregrip and a gear sector sling in the near future. I'm also planning to add an aac blackout in the not to distant future.

I've seen them sell for $1500, I didn't pay that much though

..and once you remove the muzzle break that comes on the SCAR, it makes a HUGE difference! I shot mine yesterday for the rifst time since adding the AAC Blackout and man what a difference! The rifle is quieter and you can stand next to someone shooting it and not get all of that back blast.

Here's mine with the FDE FNP45

Another with a old model M42000 attached

It'll be outfitted with a 10" barrel when/if CMMG releases them. Also waiting on the reviews of the supposedly soon-to-be released Troy Industries front and rear sights.

Still alive.

Vickers Combat Applications Sling with MASH hooks. I need to put some OD 100mph duct tape and elastic hook covers on it. You can also use both MASH hooks at the rear attachement points and deploy it as single point sling.

Nice rig and combo. That is pretty much how I will gear out my SCAR, only with a stubby TD VFG. A 10" barrel is on my priority list too.

Nice... That's a good comparison shot next to the SOPMOD. Did LMT start putting QD sling mounts on their stocks?

How far out do you guys put the stock on your SCARs for all around shooting?

How well does the SCAR grip match the tan LMT stock and the taupe Knight's Armament rail panels? I'm looking for an A2 grip that will match those pieces.

Is anyone planning on chopping their barrels to 14.5" and permanently attaching a flash suppressor?

I'm not planning on chopping my barrel to 14.5", but I would like to buy one at that lenght and perm attach an aac blackout.I think that would the best looking, and closest to military set-up I would want.

i think thats the recent gen crane stocks with QD sling mount attachment. as far as shooting i will be using it with fully retracted stock. yes i said "will be" coz this weekend will be our first date. my clone M4 has a 14.5 upper assembly permanently attached extended hider on it. ADCO did a stellar job. now my extra 16 inch upper will be sent to them(ADCO) and will be re-contoured to "true" 14.5inch then perm another extended hider.

The military barrels will not fit the civilian SCAR, so unless they make special short barrels for civilians, we're out of luck on getting a genuine FN barrel.

I thought that was a rumor that had been disproved a while back...

Not that I'm aware of. The upper receivers are definitely different.

It's true, no rumor. The barrels lugs are definitely different between the two. It would be a safe assumption that the receiver is different as well to accommodate the different barrel.

I fell in love with this rifle today at a local gun shop, I swear if it had a trapdoor buttstock I wouldve needed medical attention in the lower regions. Trying to sell a rifle to finance the purchase, once I do that Ill get a pic up.

MAN you guys have some sweet toys <- Jealous college kid

On a side note, is the serialed part the upper receiver on those? I sure hope not, that would pretty much kill the upper-receiver-in-every-ridiculous-caliber-you-can-think-of aftermarket.

All you need is a new barrel and bolt to change calibers, provided you can find someone to make the parts of convince FN to manufacture them.

True, I didn't think of that. Also since the lower is not serialed, it will be easier to get new lowers to accept diff magazines. I bet we'll see some aftermarket aluminum lowers as well. BTW, how feasible is it to just have a SCAR-H with an 5.56 lower, bolt and barrel to transform it into a SCAR-L? Or do they use different-sized bolt carriers?

Good question on the SCAR 17, my local SCAR dealer told me the other day that the SCAR 17 most likely will not make production, so Im not going to hold my breath for SCAR 17 rifles or parts.
