Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Need help on valuing a Colt Armalite model 01

Looking at purchasing an original Colt Armalite model 01... aka 601. Rifle is in about 95% condition and all original. Furniture is painted black over the original brown. Current owner (large colt collector) got it from a PD department.

Any idea what the current value of something so rare is?

Based on current market trends, I would say between $28K to $35K

Do you know the serial number on it?

I watch one with a low serial number go for a little over $28K early last year.

Yes, it is a three digit serial number, just over 500. I wish it had green furniture but these are so rare I can't complain.
