I just brought a cheap 10.5" 7.62x39 upper to use with my Lightning Link.
It was only $189 delivered so I thought why not?

Anyone successfully running RLL w/ 7.62x39 upper?
What mag is most reliable for full-auto rate of fire?
Any recommendation on bolt head?
Any other parts to buy in order to run it reliably w/ 10.5" 7.62x39 upper?

Here's the link to $189 shipped upper.
They also have 10.5" 5.56 upper as well.

Brother, I am still trying to find a X39 mag...
That works, with SEMI auto

I use the ACS mags in a registered lower. They're the cheapest of the newer mags and run 100% so far.

My favorite is a MGI lower with an AK magwell.  The upper receiver and carrier needs to be relieved, as the feed lips of AK mags are thicker.  DI shoots softer than the AK long stroke piston.

Great info!
Do you think PSA  KS47 LOWER RECEIVER also works with RLL?
MGI is pretty pricey and wondering if these also works?

+1.   With the RLL, I don't know why you'd bother messing with the 'franken' mags.  Get your self some kind of lower that takes the unmodified AK mag.  I have several MGI's as well the original AR47 before the MGI came out.
All work 100% with my RDIAS.  Friend of mine has a RLL and runs an MGI lower also.

I started out back in 2001 running the AR/AK 'franken' mags back before the 7.62x39 ASC or C - Products mags existed.
I had some good 'franken' mags and had so much fun with it (back when going rate for 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 was around $75) that the party was just getting started at 30 rounds.  I wanted to run a 75 or 100 round drum.

I now have (3) 7.5 or 8" 7.62x39 uppers, 10.5 and 16" Colt barreled (carbine gas) and a 16" Mid gas 7.62x39 uppers.  Most are using DPMS Lo pro or 'hi rider' uppers that have been clearanced for the wider AK mags/drums.
But now you can get PSA KS-47 upper that is billet machined and already machined to take the AK mags/drums.  http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ks47-stripped-upper-receiver.html

BTW, they have some low cost 10.5" barrels also...$80...http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ar-47-762x39-10-5-barrel-nitride.html
Worth considering since you'll be burning it out in full auto.

I can do mag dump after mag dump with my LL, suppressor, cheap steel cased ammo, and CPD J mags.  I'm still "breaking" in a carrier so I run it real wet.

It gets real dirty real quick.  Relube and do it again.

Problem I have is in semi. I can clover leaf at 50 yards.  Then the fourth or fifth or sixth round is six inches off.  Maddening.  I know, cheap ammo, but 6 inches at 50 yards?   That's extreme.

Ive run a 5.45 upper on an RLL lower so 7.62 should run fine, too.

KS47 internal dimensions may not accomodate an LL, but if not it can be milled to make room easily.

From my limited experience.   Don't put too much faith in high shelf or low shelf.   You will need fitting for a LL.  Just accept that.

Get whatever receiver you want and whatever carrier you want.  Then have a competent gunsmith / machinist fit them.

If you accept this, life will be much better.

I know some of you had them drop right in, but I haven't.

Once proper milling and fitting was done, perfect.  556, x39, and 9mm.
