Not really. The Colt LMG upper has a thicker gas tube which is nice, but I don't think anyone sells thicker gas tubes. Standard gas tubes work just fine though.

I had a Colt gas tube on my Sendra.
Worked and worked. |

I used to think nitrided/melonited gas tubes were a gimmick until I tried it for myself. Another C2 I know told me they did (4) beta mags back to back with a nitrided tube until the rounds were cooking off and the tube was fine.
I was using standard gas tubes and blowing them up doing our gas block testing. Using the Nitrided gas tubes don't have this happen anymore.  |

I might try one of these new high speed gas tubes.
I for the life of me do not know how I have not blown one up yet. I have had one tube laying on the barrel like pasta when I got home. Still ran. next time out I run a few mags though it and rotated the gun 180deg. She kind of straitened out. I bought that upper from Slug-o so I know is was USED when I got it. It is my go to beater, range day, scary movie gun. |

.25" non seemed ss brake line, turned down for the gas block and upper (gas block can be opened if wanted).
You can do mag dumps until the barrel melts. It was fun the first time, then it was boring |

I bought 2 nitrided gas tubes. I put one my colt 11.5 upper. The original one that came off had every color of the rainbow on it where it had got real hot.

Is there a difference between Nitride treated and nitride coated?
