How's the customer support with these folks?

I have a couple questions for those that have had this a while. I have a RR and wondered if the quick change barrel system is actually used or do you just leave the same barrel on? It is a bit less expensive now that they have a fixed barrel option. I was thinking 6" unless there is a reason to go longer. Also I never saw an answer to the 147 gr question. Anybody using it with their suppressor? Thank you. Bob

Well I did it. I found a 6" barreled minimalist version gen 2 and bought it. I  What a blast to shoot! Yes the links are a little bit of a pain but worth it for the cool factor. I just shot them into the bed of my truck and picked them up with a magnet. The upper did require a little break in but was running like a sewing machine after a couple hundred rounds. I shot 115 grain blazer brass and 147 grain speer lawman. I ran a couple belts of alternating, 115sonic, 147 subsonic with no issues. Warning, this set up eats up ammo fast!

Did you have to change anything on the lower to get it to work?  ie Buffer or Spring????

I'm running an h2 buffer and carbine spring that came with lwrc m6a3 10.5" upper. The fit was a little sloppy on my receiver but a small piece of gorilla tape between the upper and lower cured that.

My son's works great on our SBRs and my Colt M16. We do need to buy a linker. I did post these pictures in the AR forums last year.

I recently got the tactical brass recover mp5 9mm catcher it might work nicely on the fm9...i haven't tryed yet and don't know if it will efectively catch the links and brass.

As far as the FM9, there's nothing wrong with it, other than goofy loading. Its just not my cup of tea.
If you never owned a .223 beltfed or it worked on a MAC it would be a better product in my mind.

Ive never really been a fan of 9mm ARs to begin with.im thrilled to be getting into HKs because for 9mm i think my mp5 will be a better shooter and going hk21 gives me more beltfed caliber options and im more than ready for .308 beltfed.

It is a decent product targeted at a resonable market that isnt way overpriced and FO brought it to market in an extremely profesional way and met there promises for delivery.....so i think they have a future.

Tactical brass recovery .com

Im not downing the one your useing, i can't tell if its similar to the ones i run.
What i like about the TBR catches is they swing out of the way to clear jams or to demonstrate clear/safe to an RSO.
I recently sold the one for my shrike and upgraded to one that swings out of the way. When i received it originally i was disappointed it they didnt offer the feature...the only thing there mising is a quick pull pin to remove the carher for emptying. I know it can be removed via the throw lever. But that isnt always easy depending on how full of stuff your rails are.
I think i have 4 of them now..they are expensive but the best on the market IMO

Out of an MG? Why not? It's not like you're going for sub-moa accuracy.

Less reliable? Less heat extraction?

I use Tula. I have used Tula almost exclusively. I've gone through all of the 4,000 links (plus the 150 that came with the kit) I bought upon initial purchase once and have loaded a bunch a second time so I can say that I've got 4200-4500 rounds through mine. The steel cased ammo is just dirtier.

The date of this first picture below is 12/26/2015. The only time I've ever had problems is with underpowered ammo (not Tula).

I have about 5-6K through mine and the only issue is/was a broken extractor.  Broke after 400-500 rounds.  The new one has been flawless.

I am shooting reloads through a 6 inch upper with a Costal FA can.

Thanks for the info! Did you keep your link batches separate? Also, any tips on using the loader?
