Mine is stuck on like a mofo.    I'd like to put a collapsible stock on but I can't get the dagum A1 tube off?   Any tips or tricks?  I don't want to ruin the receiver obviously hence why I'm asking before I go all "bull in a china shop" on it.

thank you

It won't come off after you loosened the lock ring?

No problem. I sure you know this already but if it's stuck so bad you need to wrench on it you'll also need some sort of lower reciver block. You can either use something like this or a retired 20 round mag chucked in a vise will also work in a pinch.

Kroil will help.  Put a few drops on the lip where the receiver extension and the receiver meet and let it sit for a while - an hour or so will do it.  Kroil is a "creeping oil," and it works its way into tiny spaces.  It will loosen up whatever crud is keeping the extension from loosening.  When you put the wrench on, add pressure gradually, or you could punch yourself in the face with the wrench!
