For those here that are running supressors on their M16s. What are you using. I have more 556 cans than I do rifles, all of which are AAC or Surefire of one design or another for different uses etc. I'm sure I will end up trying them all on my Colt but I am curious what others are using and why. I searched the archives but didn't find much.

I use a Gemtech HALO, because I have a dozen uppers ... and didn't want to buy a dozen mounts, or put up with a screw-on.

AAC m4-2k (08 model) and SWR Specwar-2. The Specwar-2 recently went back to SilencerCo to have the bilock mount swapped out for their ASR mount.

TAC-16
I don't really care that it's heavier than many other suppressor. I rarely if ever shoot from anything else But the Prone position. So its weight makes the rifle that much more resistant to recoil. In fact the only thing I Don't like about it is the way it is such a heat sink. |

Gemtech TREK-T on a 10.5" barrel. Not particularly quiet but good enough for what I bought it for.
Best of luck with whatever you decide to pursue. |

Your m4-2000 will be fine. Get some high temp paint if looks bother you.

No back-to-back mag dumps - just occasional bursts, so no problemo. I'd certainly go to a larger, all stainless steel and Inconel unit for extensive full auto shooting. |

Old old school Gemtech M4-96D. I use it on my MVP Flex bolt gun: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c314/Z06M16A1/Title%202%20Toys/GTMVP_zpsa0d23509.jpg plus 2 uppers (11.5" & 14.5" M4) for the 16. View Quote Same here, I use it on my Colt M-16, Colt 6920, and Thompson Center Encore. |

When i spoke with a gemtech rep he said the Trek-T was rated for full auto, but he advised not doing high volumes of fire, ie back to back mag dumps or shooting belt fed until it starts to glow. I went with the Gemtech GMT556LE, its a thread on suppressor that has he same exterior dimensions and design as the Trek-T but has heavier duty baffles. http://www.gem-tech.com/store/pc/GMT-556LE-p978.htm As mentioned the Trek-T is not the quietest suppressor on the market but its one of the lightest and shortest. When paired with a 10.5" barrel it makes for a very comfortable rifle to shoot. I dont know how people can stand shooting with a suppressor that weighs 20+ oz plus the weight of the QD mount/flash hider. |

And another GemTech M4-96D... Mine is on a AR15 Model 614 with a 14.5" barrel and a Smith Enterprises flash suppressor with bi-lock mount. It also has duty on a Colt 6920 with 16" barrel, and an ancient Eagle Arms EA-15 HBAR with 20" barrel.

AAC 240 SD. Didn't want to have to buy multiple suppressors for multiple weapons. It works very well on .308 and 5.56 rifles.

I run an old American Manufacturer XXX Warrior on my shrike.
My registered receiver M16 is set up with a 10.5" barrel and a 51th AAC hider and runs a AAC M42000. I also have a SWR Renegade Suppressor that I use with other uppers occasionally with my M16 as the Renegade can attach to any A2 flash hider. All work well for their intended purpose. I don't see much difference between the Renegade and the M42000 other than one is an A2 fast attach and the other is a proprietary mount. |

I went with a Saker. It's great, but if I had it to do over I would have gone with a trek-t or the new GMT-556LE for weight. With my setup I only need a thread mount since the upper gas is tuned to run suppressed 100% and would like a lighter suppressor and save the weight of the flash hider. I can get a thread only mount for the Saker and probably will to save a little more weight and about 3/4" off the suppressor.

I have ran my saker and spec war 7.62.
Did some massive mag dumps with the saker at a match it ran great. Until a round got stuck in the chamber and the BCG could extract it. Got it out with a cleaning rod. M16 is 1:50 mark, had a bad DOPE for my long range gun http://youtu.be/cNuVmPiZ5ks |

I've had it happen 4 times, most recently had to send the whole thing with a stuck flash hider in it back tobsilencerco. I have two friends who also purchase sakers and have had the same problem. One is on his third MAAD mount. |

how does the HALO hold up to FA ? View Quote It doesn't specifically say so on their website but I would assume that it is as almost all of their 5.56 rifle suppressors are. Just call up their customer service and they will let you know. Also there is a GMT-Halo which is a bit more expensive but is made of titanium, much lighter and full auto rated. |

Does anyone have any experience with any of KAC offerings? Im considering a silencer for my m16 thats in NFA jail.

All my rifle cans are 30cal, since I play with lots of variants. Currently have:
- SDN-6 - Two Saker 762s - Harvester Next can will probably be a Saker 556k. Then, a Saker 762k, if that ever comes out. |
