Took a registered M16 lower and had it marked up like an HK. Added all HK parts including upper. So now it's a faux HK416.
Simple.

That's probably one of those rare times when modifying a RR actually increased its value.

Looks nice!

Thanks for the compliment. It was all done professionally and looks even better close up. The innards are Colt and all other parts are HK. I wish I could take credit for it but I can't. A HK freak had it made up and tested. I bought it in Feb '09 and it's been a safe queen ever since.

I've got 416 marine mags to go with it.

When the zombies come, I'll be ready, LOL!

What a beautiful rifle. I purchased an LWRC upper but haven't done anything with it yet. It is beautifully made. Your rifle looks like  a blast to shoot!

@19Dabn & Beretta_92:

Are you guys sure these are M16´s as in Select Fire AR´s?  (Full Auto)

They look a lot like generic AR15´s but that´s not what the thread is for, this is for actual Full Auto guns. If your guns have lightning links or drop in auto sears then please say so, but it sure doesn´t look like they have a third pin....

well I guess I'll join in.  This is my mid 70s colt SP1 converted in the 80s in ohio.  The previous owner had the small pivot pin bushings, selector markings made correct, and refinished by M60joe.  Runs great with every upper I have tried.

How much do these cost in Switzerland? Also, how do they get imported?

[#17]
They get imported through a mountain of paperwork from some gunsmiths as far as i know. You don´t do it yourself. I don´t know if it´s still possible to get these OUT of the USA nowadays. I think since ITAR is in effect you need to show an End User Certificate to export it and that may be a little hard to do if it goes to a civillian end user...

As for the price: there´s a vintage Colt CAR 15 stamped M16A1 for sale right now for 2550$. (slightly more then a brand new Glock 18, 2400$)
At a gunshop, in comission. So go figure how much the actual owner will see of the money!
It´s been up for sale since January, so it doesn´t seem to be moving fast either.

(a new Sabre Defence M4 in Semi auto will cost you 3000$ here for comparison)

I don´t know what the guy payed for the Colt M4 exactly as i didn´t ask. You see, price is usually not the problem here

Since you need a excemption permit to buy a F/A gun, and another ~120$ permit each time you want to shoot it, not many people buy them and not all ranges welcome it. That keeps demand pretty low i guess. In some Kantons, it´s no longer possible to get an excemption permit nowadays. It´s more of a collectors thing here then a shooters thing with the limitations...

I´ll stick to semis....

Thanks for the info. A couple follow up questions:

1. Can a fullauto be brought to a range and fired on semiauto only without the additional permitting/restrictions? Or does its status as a fullauto make a permit necessary for any/all range trips even if only fired on semi?

2. Are dealers and manufacturers of fullauto firearms exempt from this permitting process to shoot fullauto?

3. If an individual owned their personal private shooting range, would they still be required to obtain a permit to shoot fullauto?

1. AFAIK, the same rules would apply but i´m not totally sure and what i forgot to mention: for transport, the weapon must be torn apart and transported in two different vehicles as far as i heard. (i don´t know how many people actually abide by that though.... or maybe it´s enough to have the bolt in the glove compartment and the rest in the trunk)

2. For dealers, i don´t know. Maybe they got some leeway or excemption. My local dealer doesn´t carry any machineguns as far as i know, at least i´ve never seen one in his shop...but maybe he knows more and i´m going to ask him next time i´m there.
If they have their own range, i guess they´d just fire it if they wished when the range is closed and don´t talk about it.
For Manufacturers: Yes i think so. But then: they usually have their own shooting facility anyway. I guess they have a blanket permit for their job.

3. I don´t know. I guess technically, they´d have to. But if you really had your own private range (or just your basement for example, i´ve seen a video of a gentleman shooting his .22 machinegun in his basement... at a heap of coal ) i guess that "don´t ask don´t tell" goes a long way. As long as no one hears it or so. Outdoors.... not so much or it probably depends on the neighbours too. (small country here so you don´t have 20 miles to your next neighbour)

I´m not that well versed in the Full Auto laws unfortuneately so i gotta go from hearsay/knowledge i picked up over the years. No telling how accurate it is, could be some gun shop lore involved that´s either wrong or no longer accurate since i´ve never looked into it really in depth. I´ve fired Full Auto in the military a couple times but i´m not interested in owning one with all the legal red tape involved. I couldn´t afford to feed it anyway, unless maybe a .22. Well, ok, i probably could afford to feed it a couple times a year, but i´d rather use the ammo up in Semi Auto, just makes more sense to me then owning a collectible and only using it three or four times a year.    If others can and want to afford it, more power to them.

While i´d love to own for example that old CAR15 i mentioned for sale, i´d rather spend that same money on ammo for my other guns. Maybe if i´d hit the lottery i´d buy one just for kicks because it wouldn´t hurt me to have it around as a collectible and only firing it once or twice a year then. But as it stands, i have better use for my money.

Maybe one of the other Swiss members here can tell you more, or correct any mistakes i might have made about it. I can´t help it, but i´m probably as uninformed about Full Auto laws as some average US shooters with their NFA laws....

Some of us make a ton I'm sure, or some people bought stuff before it was expensive, but some people like me, do good, but are hardly millionares...or even near that.  It all depends on how you allocate your money.  How much do you like guns?  How badly do you want a full auto?  Save up, and one day buy one.  Unless you are a millionare ofcourse...then you can just buy whatever you want haha.  Maybe one day.

It is rocking a 7" PWS diablo upper, and just arrived at my dealer to start the horribly long form 4

After a long period of figuring out what Machine gun worked best for me, I AM HOME!!!!!!!!!

Forgive the crummy cell phone pic. The garage door theme is infectious.

Colt M16A1
Vltor A5 recoil system
Geissele SSF
Colt ambi selector with short lever
MOE with Gapper, since I'm too scared to punch out the OEM trigger guard (and bolt catch)

As configured:
BCM 11.5" upper
AAC 51t brake
DD Omega 7" rail
BUIS, Aimpoint, IR OTAL, Surefire, and AFG self-explanatory

Still haven't tried out with the A5, but assume it will be like the A1 - that was great in 20", 11.5", and especially fun with a 16" Battlecomped upper. Also haven't tried the AAC brake yet.
