Greetings,

Currently waiting on a Form 4 to come back on a STEN Mk 2.
It's presently in the "stock" configuration with a 7.7" non-threaded barrel.

I want to set it up for use with a suppressor, and it looks like my best
option is going to be to purchase an after-market barrel and have it threaded.
In conjunction with this, I think I want the barrel shortened a tad (i.e., minimize
the gap between the end of the barrel shroud and the suppressor).

[ Barrel source-- http://stenparts.com/parts/barrels/brrl_sten2 ]

Anyone done this before?  Can you recommend a barrel length?

Ultimately, I want to find one of those canvas covers to bridge the gap, and
give this sort of "retro" look--

Anyone know where to purchase one of these covers?  (reproduction is fine)

Most likely, I'll use it with one of my Bowers suppressors, e.g., VERS 9 or 9S.

Thanks for your input!

SD

I'm currently doing the same thing!
I had a a stenparts barrel cut and threaded by a local guy, who did a fantastic job.  I'm also using a vers 9s(as soon as it's approved).  I can take some pics and get you some measurements tomorrow.

The canvas wrap is another story.  Not available online really anywhere last I checked.  I got all of the materials and my mother is actually sewing it for me.  Possibly tomorrow actually.  She's had everything for a few months now, just hasn't gotten around to it it yet.
There is a thread on Uzitalk about the canvas wraps.  A guy actually made a few, but probably sold them all already.
At this point, the only reliable way to get one is to make it yourself.

Belongs to a buddy. I'll point him towards the thread.

Thanks for those who've given me some input.

After looking through what I had on-hand, I realized I could obtain all the pertinent
measurements using a STEN parts kit I already owned.

What I went with:

Total Barrel Length: 5.25"
Length to "shoulder":  4.75"

I'm trying for about 0.5" between the back of the suppressor and the barrel shroud,
which should be easy to bridge with a canvas wrap (once I find one, anyhow).

The gap will probably vary a little, depending on the suppressor/mount combo I end
up using...   hoping that the Bowers VERS9 will be fairly quiet.

Thanks again!
SD

OP I didn't think you were coming back

I have all of the info your looking for.  I can post it up later today.
My canvas wrap is finished as well.  Looks identical to the original, but it was a lot of work.
