Thank you!

As far as my job goes, it's been discussed on the boards several times, and beaten to death.  To summarize, school, work hard, hobbies, acting, sales, business, and luck.

The lack of surplus 7.62X25 has hurt the value some as well as the economy. Never fired my uncle's Ppsh 41 on semi before might have to try that out next shoot.

Where did it come from? Which war/conflict if you know?

Mine is a re-weld 1944 Stalin Tractor Factory model. She's wearing a Polish stock because I put the original one up and haven't been able to find it yet. The original barrel had only a suggestion of rifling left so I replaced it and the bolt with parts from a Polish kit. Collegeboy, if you want to see something cool, shoot your Ppsh at night and get someone to photograph it. The muzzle flash comes out as a big cross of fire.

It was brought back from WW2 then sold to a guy in 1963 for $50 who registered it 5 years later with the 1968 amnesty.  I have the paper work.  When he passed away recently, I bought it from the family.

Just make sure you don't fire a Ppsh 41 under a roof. I had a shell casing bounce off the roof and land back in the muzzle brake. The next bullet went right through the brass. The cyclic rate is so high you can't stop the next round  even if you saw it which I didn't but the other guys around me did. Luckily the bullet did not deviate enough to hit the muzzle of the brake.

$50 was pretty expensive in 1963

Well it did also come with a Sten SMG from the same guy as well.  I bought it as well.  Standard prices for the time I think.  Where's that damn time machine?

Seems like a week grip, with the left hand just forward of the trigger guard, or on the drum.  Can't you hold the barrel shroud with the left hand?

Sure you can, but only once. Barrel shroud makes a great bottle opener when the shooting is done though. I hold the drum when shooting mine.

The gun is 70 years old.  They were still figuring things out, and it's far from perfect or modern as far as grip positions go.  You either hold it where I do, or the drum like my fiancé does.  Holding it on the barrel shroud is a horrible idea.
