I've seen all of the google image results, but never one in the wild. Does anyone have a KAC Masterkey shotgun?
Someday, I would like one for my Colt 6940. Why? Because this is America.

Yep, that one's on my wishlist, thoug I likely won't be ready to buy for quite a bit. But I'm mainly looking to see pictures from people who actually have them.
I got to handle one in Scottsdale AZ when I lived there, and I have wanted one since.

Once the ATF lets me, I will have one. SBS went pending in August.

I can't imagine it would work with the 6940 considering the mounting system.

I got a SAGE International Master Key adapter and a Remington 870. It uses the pivot pin and bayo lug and is held to the shotgun with 4 screws. Not exactly a KAC, but I don't care.

A 6940 is built to mount a M203 once you slide the bottom rail off.

The bottom rail easily removes, and a standard M203 will easily mount. It will work.
There are few pictures of 6940s with underbarrel launchers, but they do exist if your google-fu is strong.
I would love to see a masterkey on a 6940 though!

Here are some with a 203 mounted, and showing the barrel and M203 notch.

Also, something that I was thinking about was the usefulness of the shotgun when not mounted to a rifle. If a stock is added (I'm thinking the Magpul SGA) you could either use the barrel mount as a rudementary sight, or remove it entirely for a very compact and useful shotgun.

There is a Masterkey for sale at Autoweapons for $3K.

But I'd go with the Remington 870 MSC kit and pick up an under barrel adapter.
The kit is an SBS, but you have more configuration options for not much more money.
And a nice Pelican case for the kit too...
Also available at Autoweapons....

I've owned three of them.  One from Dennis Todd and two from PJ Investments.

Sold one about nine years ago.

They are fun.  Heavy fuckers.

I remember reading the book Blachawk Down.  They talked about some Delta guys with shotguns on their carbines.

They would mount in the same manner as a M203.

Well, I was asking because the only M203 style Masterkey that I have seen is KAC, so I would be very interested in other versions that do.
I am not a fan of the ones that mount via the takedown lever and bayonet lug because they sit too low on the rifle.

EDIT: unless he meant that he got 3 KAC Masterkeys from those distributors, if thats what they are.
Either way, I would love to see more Masterkeys. Especially KAC.

All three where Knight's.  There only difference was the locking system on the front.

The older one used a wired locking system.  The newer two used a switch that would lock and unlock the front mount.

The engraving was different.  It is engraved on the Rem 870 "Manufactued by K.A.C.".

All it is is a Remington 870 with four holes drilled and tapped on the top of the received.  Four Allen head screws are red lock tighted to the m203 mount.

If you had the m203 mount then you could make your own.

YMMV

Anvil shut down after that whole debacle.

Charged with a felony.

Have you thought about contacting the Knights Industry page here on ARFCOM and asking KevinB if you could pick up some mounts?

Holy crap, I had no idea about that. well there that goes...
But I can consider contacting KevinB. I will also consider ponying up the dough and getting the whole KAC masterkey.
My issue with is right now is that I may be moving from MI back to PA soon, and don't want to have outstanding NFA paperwork during that. This would also be my first NFA item.
In the meantime, I would love to see some pictures of these things mounted or in use...

Paul Howe had one mounted on his rifle during the Battle of the Black Sea.

I haven't seen any good clear pics of it, but there is one where he and 4 or 5 Delta guys are standing in front of a Little Bird and you can see it. He's on the far left IIRC. I've heard him talk about it too in some interview. Probably the Panteo Productions one.

Gentlemen, as promised, my master key. Its an 870 SBS with 12.5" sawed off barrel to be even with the mag tube cap and a SAGE international mounting bracket. Its mounted to a 5.56 rifle and is super unwieldy but so badass. Once my new gas block comes in I'm going to mount it to my 458 socom rifle. That should be sufficiently obnoxious. Why do I have this, you ask? Because I can.

The warhead on the magwell was my unit from Iraq if anyone asks.

I modified a KAC A5 handgaurd, drilled and tapped the receiver of the shotgun.  Bought the picatinny clamp from B&D, they are for mounting the 37mm launchers.  Works great mounted under my m4 mainly.
