I have a Qualified sear, and for hosts I have the following... MM23E German MP5-N German MP5SD German MP5K-N I'm happy with them, but I keep wondering if I should go ahead and build a 53 and a 51 like yours. They look so damn good, but are they practical/pleasant to shoot? Totally different monsters than the 9mm subguns I assume (which is really where HK shines). |

The 51 is ok, for me, it's more for show as ammo's not cheap and its really loud, especially in the indoor range.. |

I keep hearing that, and it sucks, b/c I like the way the 51 looks more :) I will offer a different opinion as the 51 is my favorite HK host. 51>53>MP5 = pecking order for me. I personally find the MP5 a bit boring. Almost like shooing a full auto BB gun with no recoil, no muzzle flash, and almost no report. Is the 51 Practical? no its not, would I want to use it to defend my home...nope, it is fun as hell to have your teeth rattled while sending 168gr projos downrange at 700rpm, yes it is. However, I also understand that not everyone is as fond of the 51 experience as I am. Probably a quarter the folks I have let shoot it over the years have handed it back to me after a couple bursts and said thanks but no thanks. If you ever want to shoot a 51 before buying one, you are welcome to run a mag or two through mine the next time I am up in Dallas. |

My transferable RIA M60 completely rebuilt (new trunnion, rivets, etc), refinished, brought to mil spec, with the new E6 kit installed on it. Love this thing. Now I just need to clean my pool.....and bring my grass back to life..... View Quote An electric collapsible pool cover will run you less than 300 bucks, you wont ever have to fish out leaves again. An automatic pool mover vacuum will cost you another 300 bucks to keep the walls and floor clean all day every day. Always a fan of the machine guns, just dont go mythbusters on your pool by testing the underwater bullet capability lol. |

Here are a few watercooled guns from the stash. Most are c&r. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y144/jmivorm/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-03/D89A354B-4ED6-4E4C-A41B-7B3D68880882_zpstll0uzlu.jpg View Quote Nice! What about the none water cooled? |

I have 4 more watercooled guns missing from the pic but no aircooled beltfeds. There is some other misc mag fed stuff not pictured (uzi, thompson, stg44, bm59, lewis, ect) but I dont shoot any of it other than the thompson much. I guess you can say I like the era where guns were crafted and blued rather than stamped and coated. Even my .50's are pre ww2. The early stuff was really built to last. The dazzle camo maxim has over 90k rounds through it and Ive replaced 2 firing pin springs, a cocking horn and 1 barrel. I realize this stuff is not to the taste of the majority of the posters here, but I just thought I would show a little of the early side of the mg hobby.

I'd love a maxim, he'll hot even six years ago when I started into the MG's they could be had around $6-7k. Ammo was still kind of cheap as well. The water cooled 50's are really neat. But I could never afford to feed that. |
