Isn't the going price for a transferable M240B around $100-150k?
I've shot up a few cara with one...wouldnt mind having one for myself if I could afford it. Better yet, the illusive M249 |

I could have left Afghanistan with a fully operational paratroop model M-249. I was doing a handover to the gaining unit and found one stuck in the back of an ammo connex that was not on the books. Did the right thing and reported it to the our headquarters and eventually it was back "on the books" before I left.

And even if you had brought it home, you'd never be able to shoot it unless you had private property, because there is only one mythical 249 out there that is transferable, so someone would figure out you were faking it pretty quickly. |

No doubt it would be a real albatross around my neck to have a fully operational M249 and not being able to use it for fear of going to a pound me in the ass prison for the rest of my life.Getting it past customs is not hard since it is a US Army weapon. If I was to bring it home I would always be looking over my shoulder, wondering which knock in the door was taking me to prison! Not worth it! BUT DAMN IT STILL WOULD HAVE BEEN COOL! |

Very nice. I had the chance to buy a postie SAW last year for $9K and passed on it. Some days I regret the decision.

You can get brand new ones for $5k if you have or can get a demo letter. I think it was Ohio Ordnance had them for sale.
