THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
It's a 7 lb handgun that shoots 45acp full auto, that turns into a tiny smg when you pull the stock out.

That cost a measily $3500, which is nothing for a NFA gun.

It's a tiny SMG that's accurate, utterly reliable and so heavily overbuilt you could pound nails with it.

Exactly what part of that is no good?

I wonder how all the gun shop bubba / newscaster scorn got started.

hard to control in full auto compared to some other sub guns, at least in .45

Yup, hard to control in FA. But dang, they are fun to shoot. Sturdy like a tank, too. Sam

Aftermarket/non-factory stock? My PS had no spring.

In it's stock form, it is a bit hard to control. Add a can, and it is much easier to control. Add a different stock, even easier. Slow fire upper? Pure win.

Their reputation is because of their non NFA stockless semi-auto brethren.

In that guise, they're as useful as tits on a bull. Heavy, boxy, lousy trigger. These are all things that are MORE than worth putting up with for F/A fun, but just plain stupid when an inexpensive traditional semi-auto pistol (Like a Ruger P-series or whatever) does the exact same thing in a much more ergonomic manner. All flash, because people have seen MAC-style F/A's in the movies, and no go.

And like the Tec-9 pistols, they tended to be favored by wanna-be types so have that association as well.

In F/A they're awesome fun, and nobody ought to be embarrassed to own one.

You need to be robocop to fire it as a handgun, there's no question about that.

But with the stock extended and suppressor on it, you should have no problem putting all rounds into a paper plate at 25 yards.

Putting a can on it and using the stock transforms it into a little SMG instead of a machine pistol.

If you get the 9mm MAC10 with the CNC bolt, instead of the cast bolt, it shoots maybe 900 RPM, smooth as silk.

I have one with the UZI magwell, it literally shoots 1000 rounds between jams.

The UZI mag is actually inferior to the original 9mm walther mag that the MAC10 9mm used, but the wather mags are very hard to get and are expensive.

Getting an UZI magwell put onto a MAC10 is huge improvement because instead of fighting over 30+ year old $150 mags, you have access to a niagra river of military grade $10 mags.

Totally love my mac10/9. Has the uzi mag well and runs like a top. The side-folding mini-uzi style stock is also quite nice.
