I have a GB-F made in '86. The folder has been working perfect for over 25 years, it's all American Steel. I wish Ruger still made them, they are among the best folders out there, but the pistol grip could be improved. The factory folding stock can fetch around $400-500 online, more than most mini-14's are worth.

I cut an ATI for mine. Put an MOE stock on it and an Ultimak rail with a PA Mico dot on it.

When I had my Mini-14 I really liked the ATI stock kit as it was robust and felt good when shouldered. You can find them cheap so worth cutting up for your AC-556

I have factory folders on my AC556 and both Mini14s and they have held up just fine for years of constant use.
I am kind of a traditionalist with my rugers and one thing I have always liked about the factory folders all these Years is their ruggedness, comfortability and versatility. Rob |
