Good to know that the Uzi is not too picky.
Been wanting a class III gun all my life. Seems like an Uzi would be a good one to start with. Thanks guys, EMSflyer |

My experience is different as my Vector does not like to feed hollowpoints.
Most converted IMI Uzis already had what are know as "semi-auto" feed ramps installed as well...they were semi-auto to begin with. Vectors by default are SMG spec and full the full-auto feed ramps which are more crudely stamped into the bottom of the receiver vs the nice machined semi auto ramp. The Semi-Auto feed ramps were part of the original restrictor ring but Vector used to offer installing the Semi-Auto feed ramps with the restrictor ring removed to enhance feeding of hollowpoints for an extra change. So the net in my experience is Full Auto Feed Ramps = Problems with Hollowpoints Semi-Auto Feed Ramps = No issue with Hollowpoints. I never bother to get mine converted because A. I dont shoot my Uzi very much and B. When I do I pretty much only shoot FMJ. The only reason I know hollowpoint don't work is from other folks at Machinegun shoots who want to shoot the Uzi with their own ammo and try and feed it 147gr HPs and it will hang up at least one or twice a mag. That said I am sure that there are other out there whos full auto ramps work fine with hollowpoints, at the end of the day it is a stamped part with many different hollow point profiles which may (or may not) work. All you ever wanted to know about Full vs Semi spec feed ramps. http://files.uzitalk.com/reference/pages/feedramps.htm So worst case you get an Uzi with SMG /Full Auto Stamped Ramps and it doest feed HPs, you spend $250 to get milled semi-auto style ramps welded in. |

guns with the SMG feedramp, which is simply stamped into the bottom of the gun, can be a bit picky about feeding JHP and TC rounds. factory group guns, vectors built on group receivers, or a pre-68 IMI import will fit in this category. guns with the semi-auto feedramp will feed everything. conversions of IMI semi-autos, and group or vector guns that have had the semi-auto ramp installed, will fit in this category. |

My Vector will not feed most JHP's as well as some truncated cone 147's. I picked up an early milled feed ramp online I am hoping that helps .
