Guys

I have a friend that just got his 88mm FLAK reactivated and needs some empty shells. We have shot it live and with blanks to proof the very few shells he does have, but reloading the shells after every shot is a pain in the ass.

Anyone know a source for 88mm shells in CONUS or someone that can make them?

Aside from having them custom made no, I've never heard of a source for 88mm shells in the US.

Though if he can afford an 8.8cm flak he can afford a lathe to make some new shells by himself.

Turn the bases of the shell and spin the tapered part of the shell. Braze em together.

Tried that. Had a major failure with proof testing the shell with a blank charge. If it would have had a projectile the result would have been catastrophic.
