I see that LMT has 203's back in stock, will they sell them as Title 1 receivers to the general public?  Any other place beside Clyde Armory that I should try?

I don't think I've ever seen an LMT sold as just the receiver. I've seen like mr40mm's ones but they are a lot more expensive.

Clyde's is the civvie outlet for LMT. They will do a title 1 transfer on just a receiver if you ask them. GROG

How much did it run you?  They qouted me "about $1000" but the guy admitted he didn't know much about the 203.  Where did you find a barrel?

You can find new and used on gunbroker for 150-300 depending on condition. Good luck, GROG

I called clyde's last week. The guy that answered said that they only have the DD and haven't had title 1's for awhile. He was not sure if/when they would get more. I've been looking for a title 1 for a bit now. The search continues.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see why those couldn't be sold as Title I without barrels.

Clydes always has some Colts in stock too but I dont know if they are bare receivers. They run about 50% more and I'm not sure if it's worth it over the LMT.

I spoke with LMT in December about a title 1 receiver, and was told Clyde's has an exclusive contract for them.  I called Clyde's and after a phone call back from a different employee than the one I talked to the first time they told me ordering one wouldn't be a problem.

I don't own an M203 yet...but from the ones I have used in the Army and Marine Corps, I can pretty confidently say that I wouldn't pay 50 dollars more for a Colt M203 over an LMT.  I guess if I was enamored with having it say "Colt" on the side, but functionally?  No way.

Saw this thread and it got me curious! I understand that you can get a 203 on  a title one transfer but then what can you do with it once you get it? Do people just put a 37mm barrel on it?
Link Posted: 2/1/2014 5:57:44 AM EDT

37mm barrels are a little hard to find right now, but that's one way.  The other way is to have no barrel, do your form 1, and put a 40mm barrel on it when you're stamp comes back.

You probably know this, but the reason to do the transfer in a title 1 configuration is because Destructive Device FFLs are kinda scarce.

So if you do a Form 1 on it do you list it as a DD? With it being on a form 1 that would mean it would have to be engraved right? Where would you engrave it?
I apologize for the questions I'm good on SBRs, Cans, and everything else but have never thought about a 203 until I came across this thread.

Wrong, maybe Cobray 37mm flare launchers but not M203 receivers.

Where would you engrave it? 'Barrel, frame or reciever' is what the CFR says.

I just ordered an LMT M203 complete receiver (Title 1) from Clydes yesterday.  Maybe you missed them by a day or two?

$1299 plus shipping for the standard mount.  They said the rail mounted ones are $1699.  I really wanted a rail mounted one...but not for $400 extra.

Apparently not if you're military though. At least they told me on that particular item there was no discounts.

Yes please post some pics. I'm interested as well.

Where can I get smoke rounds  for civilians after I installed a 37mm. barrel?

I ended up calling them back and adding the extra few hundred for the rail mounted. I wanted to be able to put it on my Mk18 clone, so rail mounted really was a must.

Form 1 will go in the mail next week, so hopefully by the time I get back from my upcoming deployment I will have the stamp back.

Isn't that a sexy bitch.

I think what I like most about the rail mounted '203 is the pistol frame they sell... I would have me a pistol frame, and a holster.

It will be a graceful fit on a MK18...  I think it would take some fabricating to go on an AK...and some magic to make it not look like an afterthought... but, you have options, and that's a good thing.

How long does it take for the form 1? If you put a 37mm barrel do you still need to register it?

Year or more sent via mail.  3-4 months done as a trust/corporation with eFile.  No, it will remain a title I firearm with a 37mm barrel.

Same here and I have no idea...I know Randy Shaivek (sp?) used to sleeve 40mm barrels with a slick (non rifled) 37mm tube but I don't think he does it anymore, not real sure.
