I used to buy brass to commercially reload
They told me reloading 5.56 you can only make ammo that is common 40mm is to easy to reload with HE components making a controlled product illegally |

Depends on the type. If you want metal, they do cost more than the nylon casings. GROG

Many of the items that require destruction could be lawfully used by our community of lawful NFA owners. But no.
