Hey guys, I'm looking for some opinion and feed back on the above listed firearms.

I've been keeping an eye out for a 12in barreled striker which are hard to find but I figured I might just pick up a USAS 12 to fill my current need. Alot of guys keep telling me to buy a Saiga or a Ksg.

What are your guys thoughts on this?

How much are mags? Your answer. It's there.
The 2nd Amendment is not about rights. It is about CAPABILITY. It is about ensuring the capability to respond to violence, and oppression. Not with 1 round, or 10, but with the full force of indignant violence deserved at a breach of our peace.

Well striker has no mags, and the usas 12 mags run about $80+ each but with the usas 12 your getting a..oh how do I say this, a non-current production or imported firearm ie, will be more valuable then a currently produced and imported firearm.

Atleast that is how I looked at it, mainly wondering if there are any issues with the usas 12?

The main drawback of the USAS is it's weight, and lack of regularly available parts.

The Striker and Streetsweeper are not as heavy, but the poor sight picture and having your forearm blasted but hot gas pretty much sucks.

Both of mine pretty much stay in the safe. The Saiga gets a regular workout. They are cheap, and parts can be had failry easy.

Yea, I have the feeling that either one I go with will end up being a safe queen since the only range around is indoor (no buckshot) so I just shoot the m11 or getting mounted to the shotgun wall in my office. I've got a shotgun fetish I guess, I have a case the size of the wall which includes my 870 witness protection, supershorty, lm870, spas 12, high standard 10b, mossberg bullpup, and my tactical 870 with the sidewinder kit.... Yes, I have issues..lol

See you are "investing" I didn't see that as a consideration.

I also did not assume it because traditionally 12ga NFA is a low return market.

I'm not exactly planned to make money off of the purchase but I'm also not planning on losing money. I feel by stepping into the striker for usas 12 its more of owning a piece of history since they won't be making anymore and that being said theres also the wow factor when someone sees it and comments how they didn't think they were legal.

You can simply buy a 18" DD Striker or Streetsweeper (or USAS-12 for that matter) and cut the barrel to 12". You don't have to wait for a 12" to appear, you just make your own.

Destructive Devices have no barrel length component to their definition, just barrel diameter, which means that if it's a registered DD, then you can cut the barrel to any length you want without prior approval. There is no need for a Form 1 or a tax stamp because a DD is neither a rifle nor a shotgun.

This is federal level, your state may well differ. Many states specifically exclude shotguns from their definition of "Destructive Device", making it just another shotgun at the state level as long as it's acquired pursuant to federal law. A 12" DD Striker might well be a "Short Barrel Shotgun" in your state, so be tread carefully.

Well I don't know much about the tracing the records on the strikers but is there anyway to run the # to see if it was a legit 12" barrel?

That's the whole point. If the Striker is a properly registered DD, then there is no such thing as an illegit 12" barrel.

Well legit production striker with a 12" barrel. I like keeping things original when I'm dealing with something thats no longer produced.

I would check for legality in Michigan.

From what I've been told the classification of "Destructive Device" allows us to get away with the barrel length as does the "Machine Gun" clarification allows us any barrel length on a rifle.

That's correct at the federal level, however Michigan may not agree that the Striker is a Destructive Device. State law may view it as a "shotgun", in which case a 12" Striker is a Short Barrel Shotgun in your state and you'll have to satisfy both classifications: DD to acquire and SBS to possess. Not saying this is the case, but this type of state and federal disparity is not uncommon.

Separately, I'm still confused as to what you mean by "legit" 12" Striker. Are you talking about an factory-original NFA Striker? If this is the case, you need to find a 12" version for sale, then convince the seller that he needs to write to NFA Branch to inquire about how that particular Striker was originally registered. Only the current owner can do this and it will take a long time in these understaffed days. I doubt he'd be too interested in waiting.

the USAS has way more hollywood and video game cred than your other choices, if you are collecting that is the one I would go for...
