So I just installed a brake in 5.56 for my Surge (which should be out of jail in the next few days) and I had to use 4 shims. Is that normal to get it timed right (one thick I think .065 and 3 small i forget what they mic'd up) ?

Also used 2 drops of Rocksett. The geiselle reaction rod worked like a dream.

ETA 30 ft/lbs of torque was used

Your good, mine used 3 shims but I have had others use more and some use less, get it timed correct and use the proper torque and your good to go.

Awesome. I did the Rugged and right after I did a Saker mount which only took 2 shims so I started wondering. The reaction rod was awesome, made the job easy.
