Any links? What's changed in the current version? The Optimus has a 17-4 stainless tube and a big blast chamber - can't imagine they made those design decisions randomly.

My understanding (from a very good source that already has a video ready to release) is there's a press release coming.
See the top question on Griffin's site here to see what triggered the convo elsewhere. Has to be the current version with the redesigned booster housing. Not going to be rated for the same barrel lengths and rates of fire as the Optimus...more like the Sportsman. |

For this one, it sounds like it's the current version that lets you use the stock wrench with the booster housing. If it didn't come with the "hex tool" and armorer's wrench, it's not the latest version. (I don't have one, so I can't speak much to the specifics of what that change was) |

I hope the upgrade program gives the older model this capability. If not, I'm going to be pretty bitter. I missed the revision by a week or so.

They upgraded the tube when they made the booster housing change. Don't see a new tube in your future without another $200 stamp. But, the one you have will do exactly what it was advertised to do when you bought it. No sense in being too bitter.
