Did anyone here tuck their can under the handguard on a 300blk build and later wish you hadn't? If so, why?

I'm considering this for my 8" 300blk/Omega build.

Do you shoot with a VFG and gloves? If so, go for it. If not, I wouldn't recommend it.

Hunting or target blasting?
Take what GP said seriously

I'm adaptable so a VFG and gloves are doable.

I have a Seekins SPROV3 8" .300 and a Saker 762. I really like the setup and I have had zeros issues with it being recessed.

If you want to use the ASR mount with the Omega you won't be able to set it under a rail. But if you're going with direct thread then no issue.

Omega 8" barrel and 12" Mlok Aero rail.

I never shoot this setup and was a bit of waste of money.

Should be fine with subs. Mine does not get hot at all.

Good to hear. That's mainly what I'll be shooting. Are you using rail panels around the GB or suppressor?

Aero sells an upper set up exactly as you describe... it even comes with the Omega.

I think it's one of if not the best way to make the coolest looking AR. The rifles in this thread are awesome. As far as functionality it seems like they'd get hot and be a pain to take off under normal conditions let alone if they got stuck on. But I have no experience so I'm talking out of my ass.

I have a Honey Badger clone I built.  7.5 in barrel, 11" rail.   Although I never shoot it unsuppressed, I want a shorter handguard.

And BTW, only can be done with DT or a QD that doesnt need to be 'unlocked' to remove.
